Ampeg SVT 7 Pro Club

Just got mine. Put it in the rack all set for Saturdays gig. Im going to insist the sound guy uses the DI on the amp and not the pedal. I would even be fine with loosing my DI pedal all together with this head.
If my ever blows up (knock on wood) I will grab a SVT preamp snag the QSC power amp out of my PA set up.

after mine popped, I never got it fixed so it's just sitting here. im pretty disappointed about it not lasting much over a year. I guess that i'll just have to bite the bullet and send it to ampeg (it's out of warranty) to have it fixed.

I loved it's tone & power but. .... Sorry Ampeg. Was gonna get a SVT-VR but a few very wise ppl on here pointed me in the Fender super Bassman 300 direction. Very happy. VERY!

How come it's not getting fixed under warranty, I thought there was a minimum 2 year period in the EU for this kind of thing.

Tonight my 7 Pro gets its first beating with the band. I had it pretty loud the other day with no issues. Gain up high, Compressor cranked. This thing goes from loud to louder.
Had my first rehearsal with the 7Pro last night. Sounds killer but I think my Kilo cuts a bit better. Gonna gig the 7 tonight. I'll give it a while before I decide who going to live in my rack full time. Its certainly lighter then the Kilo by 25lbs which is nice.
My 7pro cuts through like a knife! It actually blows away two loud guitards and a keyboard/synth player in fact! I keep the treble and bass relatively flat, mid selector at 3 and mids around 3 o'clock. My gain is usually around 2 o'clock.
The compressor is best in moderation, but it's a good way to open up the gain and keep it in check. There is a lot of interaction between the two.
