Ampeg SVT 7 Pro Club

Hey Irie, glad you went with the 7pro. It's a great amp. It's quite a departure from an SWR head, so let us know what you think of the eq and voicing. I am a big SWR guy as well so I use some settings most guys on here don't agree with.
Compressor 9 o'clock
Gain 12 0clock to 1-2 o'clock depending on the bass.
Bass at 3 oclock
Ultra low engaged (most folks don't use this in a band setting but I add mids in)
Ultra high not engaged
Mids at 2-3 o'clock
Mid selector on position 3
Treble at 12-1 o'clock most of the time
I sometimes back it off depending on the room.
This gives me a big deep phat tone that fills up the bottom end a lot. I run it through a SVT 410hlf as well. I use octave pedals and overdrive a lot, and it seems to keep my 7 string guitar player happy. It's a lot of lowend. But the 7pro has enough headroom to pull it off.

I played an svt4 on a backline gig last week and remembered the things that i like about ampeg..I was a full "A" endorser of them for almost 20 years.. Loved them.. I never had one issue.. Even with my svt2 non pros after years of planes, trains.ships and automobile moving..
And i would like to buy a 7 pro but i hear about so many of them popping after a while..
If they were more bullet proof i would order on e ina sec0nd.. they seem to be loud enough for just about anything....

Does anyone have a schmatic for the SVT 7Pro? I would like one for my file. I am kind of weird like that. I like to have all the info on my gear that I can.
Any suggestions for a base line setting of the SVT 7Pro for that "Ampeg" tone? I have noodled around with this thing and I just can't seem to find that spot.. I have checked around and there are no suggested settings. I just need some place to start with.
I have my mid frequency set to 3 and the mid boost cranked to 10. Im still having issue getting it to cut through but Im pretty sure its because I have the Ultra low in and thats scooping my low mids out. But with the ultra low out is sounds real think with no bottom end.
That's kinda where I'm at. Played 4 Pro's for years, and loved them. Never had issues, ever.
I would love to go Ampeg again, but without the huge weight and size of the 4 Pro. I have just heard too many stories of these going dead in the middle of gigs.......
I don't know how you guys are having trouble cutting through. I am using a 410hlf and cut through fine. With the ultra low engaged. I bump my mids to about 2 o'clock with the selector on 3.

Constant double bass. Im fighting kick drum. I could fix it with more treble but id rather find the right mid frequency that works for me then treble. I just need to play with it some more. Ive only used it with the full band twice,
I use my 7pro in a band with double bass about 70% of the time, two loud guitards, and a keyboard player, never once have I had an issue cutting through. Disengage that ultra low, keeps your lows at noon, mids around 2 and treble around 1. Oh and the mid selector at position 3.
This is the exact reason I never bonded with my 7 Pro..just never seemed to have that mid band push that I love of Ampeg. Ended up with a PF800 and 3 Pro for my light amps that I believe better capture the Ampeg vibe. There's always the SVT VR for times when the venue warrants and/or I feel like shleping it.
