... and the Berlin wall came tumbling down

Eh, no worries...my offer still stands if you guys do a show around here! I'll mic the ^&$% out of your cab! ;)
too bad it won't be my cab...ah, the joys of rented backline. on my last gig out that way, i got a 450h and a 410hlf. i love ampeg but not those ampegs. that's the "i'm glad i brought my vt pedal" ampegs. on those gigs they can keep the mic far away ;)

speaking of which, jeff, mic or di? do you take an interest in the foh sound on gigs? considering most jazz players these days go for the serious treble, i'd imagine you've probably had a few soundmen you've had to re-educate a little, eh?

Time to take a break from these pages Folks. Frankly, all the bickering with Fulton has put me off of the hang! I never knew anyone ever who hung around in any situation when they knew that they weren’t welcome, not like this guy. The threads were compromized and his presence was a negative. So be it! Time to hit the road! I have places to go and pizzas to eat!

I’ll be back at another time. But until then, I leave you with a film clip that is a blockbuster of a demonstration against metronomes. Watch it to the end, because it is a masterpiece of musicians with almost inconceivable time abilitites never acquired with a metronome. Enjoy! Thanks to you guys for your help and thoughts.

Best from Jeff

Later and thanks Cats. I hope that I helped!

:hyper:That's badass! I miss Don Ellis

I cannot believe that the moderators are so vindictive that they would ban a guy for having a problem with the ways that the moderators sometimes do their job. If this is true, then these moderators have to go and new moderators should be brought in.

Having a problem with the moderators is not the issue, Jeff. It's question/discussing issues of moderation in the open forum, which is clearly against the rules of TB. If you think something a Mod does is wrong/unfair, address it via PM or contact the site administrators (using the "contact us" link found on every page). But do NOT discuss moderation in open forum.

That was great! :)

I think I would be happy to be a guest at one of their Weddings!! :p

Does anyone know if cdbaby is the only place to purchase this? The "recommended" shipping method for international is UPS, which costs $55. It doesn't seem amazon is carrying this, so I wonder if I just have to wait a bit longer?

I'm back because I gave it a second thought. I enjoy hanging with you guys.

The only place that I will put my CD is CDBaby and Audiophile. I won't put it in Amazon because they charge way too much.

P.S. I cannot believe that UPS will charge $55 US to ship a CD. This can't be right, right?

I wrote that the tone of TB, not JB needs to be more lighthearted. I find you to be quite easygoing... Or at least, I used to.:p

love the rimshot button. I am going to keep that page on my computer up at all times so it is ready when someone walks into my office and makes a bad joke... bada bing!

Yeah, the salt can come out now and again.......

Seriously, thanks a million for your support, your understanding and all that you contribute to the guys over here. Agree with me, don't agree with me. You are just a nice guy and it is way more fun to hang with nice guys.

P.S. @%^*@#)%*^@#()$*&@#$%()&@%()*&@#5_)&*@#%()*@%) and the horse you rode in on!!

Wow, that is alot for shipping. CD Baby will let you download the music won't they? That is my big plan.

No No No! I cannot believe that they would charge 55 dollars for any CD. NO Cd is worth this price. Go and check the price again. There's no way that this is the price. Let me know what you find out. Thanks,.

Hey Jeff,
The Chord Tones stuff is definitely a worthwhile exercise and is now a basic part of my practice routine.

It really is excellent music to work on. Do it slowly, and try, if you can, to play the number 4 and 5's in 12 keys. This take a little doing, and if you can't then don't. But, let me know how it turns out.

Balkan musicians are amazing.
I dare say, though, that in addition to not having acquired their time abilities with a metronome, that they most likely didn't acquire their musical abilities through formal academic study.

The example giveth, the example taketh away... :D

I certainly agree that there is much to be learned from other musical traditions.
