... and the Berlin wall came tumbling down

I knew a guy who sweated like crazy, so I Ban'ed him. But he preferred Right Guard. Bada BIIIGIIINGGGGGG
that's a good one! not so much the joke...the way you always punctuate your jokes with "bada bing!" that never fails to crack me up! could have used you with that yesterday. we were doing a rockabilly song and the guys in the band got the audience clapping, so i stopped it and said, "i'm sorry folks, but when you clap like that it really throws me off." you wouldn't believe how grossly uncomfortable it got in the room after that.

really could have used "bada bing."

Jeff, with all respect - it's usually the case that if we mods need to do something, it's less about what's been said than the way in which it's been said. But I know that you get that already and anyway, it would be entirely wrong for me to go into specifics here.

I do know that your contributions are valued by the team here and all the "nice" interactions that go on in your threads are really appreciated.

Having said that, I would ban your ass for the quality of some of the jokes that you post on here, "bada bing" or no. But that's just me. :D

Good luck with your music!

After being retired from professional music making for almost a decade, I've recently co-formed an act that surrounds me with monster players having professional attitudes who are eager to play, practice, learn and grow, with group potential to burn - so I'll take that good luck with heartfelt thanks, and wish you the same.

:bassist:

Like this one?

A woman walked into a Jewish delicatessen and asked the boss if he sold any nuts.

The guy said that he didn't.

So she then asked him if he sold any dates.

The storekeeper said to the woman, "Lady, if I had nuts, I'd have dates!"

um, you forgot your catchphrase.

Oh yeah! I forgot.

BADA BIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

P.S. You restrained yourself admirably from going bonkers over on that other thread. I always said that people identify themselves with no effort, and a couple of guys over there are really wound up. I really admire your restraint in this department. Congrats!

weeeeeeelll...i did reply but i thought it was pretty restrained for me ;) but thanks.

THAT'S MY PROBLEM WITH THE MODERATORS! They sometimes don't play fairly because they don't always like what some here say, me for example! So I had to go and fight for my rights!

This is going to sound harsh, but I'm pressed for time and am not going to make this all flowery.

"Rights", at least as far as this board goes, are what the admins and Paul have allowed you to have, not what you think you deserve based on your resume, years of work, or whatever other qualifying trait you want to point to. Sorry, it's a fact. This is not a democratic site where you get to vote on what you think should happen. For all intents and purposes, this board is more of a totalitarian state than anything else, (while still not being as strict as say, China...) at least as far as I see it.

Some members around here always complain about how things work, without knowing what actually goes on behind the scenes. We work that way so that this forum does not end up like so many others on the web, with members flat out cussing each other out in PM's and in threads. That type of a hostile environment isn't a good place for discussions at all, especially ones of the academic nature which so many of your threads are, especially given the way that people are very protective of their beliefs, right or wrong. I've personally seen a couple other boards I was a part of come apart at the seams because of this kind of behavior.

I've rubbed people the wrong way as a mod, and I'd say in 90-95% of those situations, I have apologized or clarified in further communication with those folks, and have gained some great friendships because of it.

On the other hand, I've also royally pissed off other mods and at least one of the admins. Just because we all work on the same team does not mean we all see eye to eye. That's kind of the point of having so many of us around to balance each other out.

Regardless of that, thanks for posting Jeff. You, along with a lot of other pro players around here are what makes this site so special, and makes it worthwhile for members to stick around.

Oh, and Jimmy...what freaking sugar? I haven't seen no sugar 'round here! ;) :D

Yeah, Baby! It's tough to restrain sometimes. But, this is what guys like us, the more volatile personalitites need to do. We really need to sit on it more than the more evenly keeled guys. SOOOO, Restraint! Restraint! It't good for your heart. The more you restrain......well maybe this wasn't the best tune to explain this with.

Thank you for the comments. I know that things vary and that you guys have your hands full. But, to be honest, ever since I pointed out in strong terms the inequality of some of the comments and events going on here, things in general seemed to become more fair. I thanks you for your input, but, as with certain musical issues, I also volunteered an open commentary on some previous posts that, as a group, not as individuals (I don't think anyway) that the moderator group didn't do things in an even way. Some sided with the guys who took direct personal shots at me for months and never, not once, did any moderator take exception to this.

When I came along to join the site, suddenly some moderators were telling me to behave. Right or not, I'm no fool and I can see when things aren't done with equal attention. So I protested, and ever since then, I've noticed a much fairer manner of interaction over here (except for the closing of my last thread.)

Anyway, there it is, and here I am, and ther you are, and there we were!. Things are cool, and you sound like a very nice guy and it is always great to associate with nice people. So thanks.

I wrote that the tone of TB, not JB needs to be more lighthearted. I find you to be quite easygoing... Or at least, I used to.:p

love the rimshot button. I am going to keep that page on my computer up at all times so it is ready when someone walks into my office and makes a bad joke... bada bing!

Yeah. I deserved that!

P.S. Thank you for your always polite and intelligent comments. I enjoy chatting with you and I appreciate your input always.

Jeff
