Personally, I don't see what if anything calls for REPORTING in anything Sav'N Bass wrote.. He cut himself off long before he put in anything that would be against TB policy but whatever floats your boat Guy.. From this perspective it seems like you're trying to get a rise out of him pretty hard and he's doing his best to stay on-topic.

So the whole take the sheet off before you look in the mirror isn't a klan reference?

No it would not given the context ... I think you are grasping at straws .. However .. since some of you are so ..... offended by the post ... I will edit it yet again.. but I see two different scenarios.

I am offended by the folks who keep on trying to make excuses for this man or who keep on bringing up other incidents, as if they were all related and of course black folks as a group are a monolitic block that are responsible for everything that any of us do .. oh and by the way .. we also have the liberal media in our pockets.... as if Trayvon Martin and his family deserve to pay for crimes committed by others because they look like them.. I am offended by the repeated ignoring of the clear facets of this case as shown by the actions of the local law enforcement in the tampering of witnesses and attempting to give this man any excuse for murder they can .. like administering a drug test on the victim and not the shooter... , the 911 tapes that get more damning by the day, the earwitness testimony, the testimony of those who were basically ignored because their version of what they heard did not coincide with what the shooter said.. and all that in the context of... had this boy not been black he'd probably be alive, and if he had been shot the investigation would have been more in accordance with SOP .. so ... I'll edit my post.. and you can go right on being offended by it if you like.. but as I said .. some of you need to take a long look in the mirror and honestly ask yourselves where these things are coming from in this case and if you may perhaps need a heart check.

Like I said, I agree, for the most part, with your view of the death of Martin and that Zimmerman should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I'm not even debating whether or not race played an issue. I believe race always plays an issue in our country.

I just don't think you "sheet" comment was necessary or in good taste. It detracts from the other points you have been making and only serves to agitate people.

To nortonrider's defense, he did come up with one story that is starting to gain traction in the media which involves a white kid getting attacked by two black kids. Though IMO, there's something fishy with this story. Pouring gasoline on someone and lighting it will result in much worse than first-degree burns and singed hair.. Also, who carries gas around to attack someone? Maybe the kid was playing with gasoline and didn't want to get in trouble.. Maybe he's telling the truth but my BS meter is ticking hard on this one..

I pretty much agree here

Avoid letting the trolls get to you, even if they are likely to be racists looking for excuses.

I find it sad that so many of you blindly follow what you hear from the media.

From experience I have learned that when you hear 2 accounts of the same event, the truth always falls somewhere in the middle.

(nice avatar change there Sav'n Bass)

Just for clarification,
how about posting examples of what You guys are so upset about? I don't think I wrote anything "out of line".

So if a white skin guy talking about a brown skin guy tells him to "put the spear down" would that not be akin to "take off the sheet"?

Unless you were talking about making the bed...

No. There is nothing inherently racist in pointing out racism. There was also nothing wrong with the post, although it's been edited now.

Pacman I'm a racist? I'm a KKK member? really?

I'm not upset at all by what sav'n bass posted about me, like I said earlier, I expected it.

It's become a stock response to call a white guy a racist whenever they point out something controversial.
Kind of a cliche response in my opinion.

Really? Is that what I said? Is that what the other poster said? Did he name you?

There's an old southern saying - when you throw a rock into a crowd of dogs, the one that yelps is the one that got hit.

On a related note, some of you should familiarize yourself with the concept of hyperbole.

There is something wrong, however, with inferring someone is a racist simply because they don't share your opinion.

There is "simply not sharing your opinion," and there is "trolling every race thread concerning black people."

You are what you paint yourself as on the internet. Norton's painted a picture of a guy who doesn't like black people, or for whatever reason gets irritated when something pops up concerning a) anti-black discrimination or b) a group of black people trying to get a leg up somehow, or perhaps just lives in his own world and can't fathom (or doesn't care to concern himself with) different kinds of people.

Or none of the above? Or all of the above? I guess we'll never know, unless folks decide to start being honest about themselves instead of pretending to be objective. There are a few (very few) people on here who do that. Until then, though,

You are what you paint yourself as on the internet.

Something has struck me about this case, and I offer it as food for thought: There are crowds screaming for the arrest of Zimmerman. Now there are crowds screaming for the firing of the police chief. Crowds.

Letting the crowd act as investigator, enforcer, judge and jury resulted in lynchings in the past. Is that really what anyone wants?

I'd hate to be Zimmerman. But I'm not sure if I'd hate being guilty Zimmerman or being innocent Zimmerman right now.

Guilty Zimmerman has to live with what he's done, and suffer the consequences (death or incarceration).

Innocent Zimmerman has to live with the fact that he won't be able to walk the streets without fear of being lynched.
