That's cool. This instrument was conceived by AJ and built solely for him and his musical needs. I doubt Vinny had mass appeal in mind when building it.

Seriously, if you have a chance read both interviews in Bass Player and Bass Gear Magazine. Reading about the conceptualization, development and final manifestation of this instrument was very interesting.

otoh, Vinnie is a smart businessman, and he knows that somewhere someone will see AJ's bass and say "That's awesome; I want one!". So it does appear on the current Fodera pricelist. (But I'll bet they don't have any lying around the shop waiting for someone to place an order...no doubt they don't start a build until a deposit is received.)

I'm glad that Fodera works with AJ to give him basses that allow him to achieve what he hears in his head. The design is nothing that I have any personal interest in owning. It's way too big for me, and I also need some sort of onboard tone control on any bass I own or play.

This is from the Bass Player article. Joey Lauricella talking about wiring the bass: "..we cut apart one of Anthony's $2,000 instrument cables to duplicate it." Anthony is an amazing musician and I'm sure he can here the subtleties in his Meyer Sound rig, all his Fodera basses, and his $2K cables.
