7-Jam just come on shuffle!

Rubbing needles in my eyes!! Eating dirt !!

Now that's a monster of a tune right there. It's taken a while to nail coming in at the right time with the 'everything gonna be alright' line. A great, great 7/8 groove pulled off so effortlessly.

Hell yeah! It took quite a while (especially for a novice) to learn, but 7 Jam and Burning Beard were rewarding to learn because of the odd timing...or time changes.

I was thinking about the greatest opening songs at shows, and I thought I had seen the greatest when they opened with Gravel Road, but they surpassed that by opening with a raucous/evil version of Dragonfly in Atlantic City, NJ...until we witnessed (from directly up front) them opening with Mercury.
That was a killer death-punch from the first note.

Seeing them do Spacegrass in Virginia was a highlight.

This band makes me forget I'm almost 51. Sorry to keep posting my long-winded BS here...this has been a bad month, and this thread helps a lot.

IMHO, a little heavy on the cherry and lacking in the sour department. Don't get me wrong, it was solid, but just didn't seem to fit into the category NB put it into.

That being said, the local awesome beer place in town had it on tap for a while and I consumed many..... one night... too many... but there were also several Imperial Stouts involved.

very cool stuff - Gullah came on the shuffle yesterday.
A couple more cool bass songs: Slow Hole to China, Easy Breeze, Swollen Goat, Peterbilt.
Spacegrass - every time that low A# hits in the Chorus, it's the most beautifully brutal note in music.

Well,I've tried,I really have..but I can't pick one fav. tune..Although my wife wants to vote "Mercury" for the line "Bed with Dawn,your bride"...her name's Dawn.

I guess it would hinge on my mood at the time..but I can say that Rats is my least fav..To me it just sounds like filler,not an honest effort of employing their talent..

Every time I listen to Mercury, I lift my gaze to the sky and palm an invisible lightning ball to that lyric. So epic. :bassist:

The version from Live In Flint is great, but I think I know what you mean. It isn't a patch on the vast majority of the back catalogue, but it's still a good tune.

I think A Shogun Named Marcus, El Jefe Speaks and Milk Of Human Kindness are the standout tracks on that album.

On my Elephant Riders CD, there is a bonus hidden track, '05' and it's amazing. Great little bass and drum break...

Pure Rock Fury (song) makes me want to drive fast....Big fan here, I really like all the albums, and especially like the funkness of Jam Room. Seen them once in Detroit, but was disappointed because they shared the bill with a couple of other bands and only played an hour or so. I hope they'll do Flint again, I'm so there.

Do you mean after 'The Yeti'? That's trk 5 from Elephant Riders,right? I know that about 12 min after 'The Dragonfly' there's a hidden track that's pretty sweet!

LOL Adam! My wife just rolled her eyes and said "Great.There's more of you."
