The circuit has been designed by Dunwich Amps and Nick was cool enough to hook me up with some PCBs after he closed shop (thanks!).
As that "hooking up procedure" was through Osh Park, I ended up with more than just one PCB (minimum order of 3).

I did build one right after getting the PCBs, loved it and then thought about making another one, this one, with an added gain pot (first BS170) and some fancy components (Dale resistors in certain spots, Silver Mica and Nichicon caps, 2 big ol' tantalums).

Thing is, it didn't work .... I followed the signal to almost the end of the circuit with my audio probe, the Volume pot (stereo) seemed to be a dud and the culprit but I didn't feel like removing that and ordering another one, so I put the whole thing aside for quite a while. Then came back to it a few days ago, did another fresh audio probing session and realised that there actually was a signal coming out of the volume pot hitting the LM386, so a quick change of the IC (new one from Retroamplis) and BOOM, there it was, alive and kicking, threatening to break windows and cause small earthquakes.
Gotta love them short trouble shooting sessions!

I still want a bigger knob for the Boost, but here it is anyway.

Are the boards still available on OSH? A search for mondo power showed nothing. Looks interesting.

schalltechnik has on their main site that they stopped September 2022. So I just missed them. And A good flexible compressor is on my list of stuff to get. I'm torn between buying (so I know it's good) or finding one to build.

If yall know of a good compressor kit out there let me know. I'm gonna have a lot more time in a month or so, and I wanna get to building pedals.

Alyways on fixed frequency 4th order high pass filter beta tester. This will be another free board share soon, most likely in 1590B size rather than the pictured 1590A build though:

That would allow room for a optional battery and also make for an easier DIY build.

4th order? What happened, did you get the wrong parts the first 3 times you ordered them? :roflmao:

The basic no-nonsense box and function is pretty cool actually.

It was done at the request of a TBer friend who wanted something to sit under his pedalboard. I see it as kind of a fail in a way because he wanted max transparency, but it actually seems to make my passive bass sound better for the most part. ;)

I rarely use classic textbook filter alignments but in this case I gave that a shot, figuring reality checks are useful sometimes.

Nice job. What is the freq set / fixed at? This could be a very useful tool.

Just finished this up yesterday. I’m getting lazy with the enclosures. Paint isn’t working out for me. I’m thinking of switching to powder coat. For a small investment I can do it. Already have a oven and compressor. Have thought about a laser engraver but that’s still up in the air. Wish I had someone local that did UV printing. I know there are places to order from out there and that’s still on my mind. Anyway this is a VFE Woodchipper Version 2 Standard with the truesoft Standard bypass. To me this one sounds better than the SPS Version 3 . Not sure why ,but it does.
Next on the bench is the Triumvirate Version 2 modded for bass. Looking forward to that one .
The SPS version I built already didn’t have any bass mods and it sounds great on bass.
