My latest - a shamelessly Legend of Zelda-themed VFE Triumvirate, built on the Madbean PCB set and incorporating the bass mods. Shoutout to Brian for hooking me up with a replacement bypass board after I accidentally trashed the first one. I had the box fabricated by Spencer at Amplifyfun and had a great experience, highly recommended.

I didn't have and couldn't find any of the TLE2074 op-amps that this circuit calls for, so I ordered a pair of every different kind of quad op-amp Tayda carries and auditioned them all to find my favourite. Turns out that rolling chips in this pedal is worth the time spent, because the different op-amps give very different results. The go-to TL074 is probably the worst choice here; it gave a very hard-edged distortion along with an intrusive whine originating somewhere in the midrange circuit. Almost every other choice was much improved, giving a more pleasant, softer distortion with less or no whining. I ended up sticking with the LM324, all the good tone and no noise. Now I just have to figure out how best to set all these blasted trimpots...
