New Year Goal:
I'll be trying in 2023 to get active in this thread again.

First two months will be a write-off though, as I'll be travelling...

Is there a simple way to make drilling templates?

I second inkscape, any free vector image editor will work well.
For me I have a 3d printed template for 1590B and 1590BB with holes in a grid pattern, including on the sides.
If you make a wooden one, it shouldnt be too hard as well
Was thinking to add drill bushings, but so far i've been drilling straight enough not to destroy the guide holes

Half the time i just wing it anyway. Then i scan the enclosure and design my decal off the messy hole layout

would a pedal with 4 way active splitter and mixer all in one be a good idea?
maybe with a 2 way output for feedback/more option
thinking of playing with parallel effects.

Thx! Going to check out inkscape tonight. I'll do my template with paper and glue, punch and pass it on to someone with a drillpress. Or maybe to @monsterbonsai. Love his enclosuredesign!

Maybe a phase-switch or three?
If you are using fuzzes, that don't like buffers you may want to take care of input-impedance (pickup-simulator).

how much of a pita would this footswitch-placement be? I've seen pedals like this with 3 switches but never stepped on one...

edit: I've got about 1cm clearance left and right of that pedal. Guess that will help a little.

edit2: Don't look at the center-mark of the middle fs...

They have them at mouser if you need the smd type. If you don’t mind my asking, what are you building.?

Ah Digi-Key was out so I didn't even check Mouser.

I'm building this adapter for the MC33179 in a Vintage Microtubes clone. I used a machine-pin socket so that I can just use some diode legs rather than wreck the leaf socket.

I thought it may have something to do with DG. I built a through hole vero version of the DG tone capsule and instead of the MC33179 it used a TLE2074 although a regular TL074 worked just as well. I may have to order a few from mouser for spares.

The kit came with a TL074 but I always like the idea of tweaking stuff.

I like a challenge and mods myself. I was gifted a hot air rework station for Christmas and some solder paste. I have been getting into more smd work lately. I managed to ruin my first IC ever . I got heavy handed with the solder paste and had a nice big solder bridge under the IC. I ended up scrapping the IC but saved the board. I told my wife it didn’t bother me to much because that was the first component I ruined since I started about 3 - 4 years ago. Lesson learned. I ordered some even lower temp solder paste and learned patients and a little goes a long way. She did get me a smd practice kit to learn on too but I kinda like to jump in both feet first, lol.

It's doable, velcroed to a pedalboard is best.
I find stepping on the side switches flips the box otherwise.

I've put switches on the front before, which is a very bad idea. kick the whole board away before u even toggle it.

I guess I'll find a way to get away with only two footswitches. Maybe even one if I decide to put expression jacks before both pots instead of switching the pots in the pot-swap-setup. One controlling DRIVE, one the GATE on the fuzz.

Built another Pinball. This time in a 1590b instead of a125b. I don’t think I’ll do it again. It was a very tight fit and I had to modify the lid. May look into some 1590N. I believe that’s what VFE originally used. Still sounds great though.

I think next time I´ll go for a glossy clear coat and lightly sand part of it
