What don't you like about new CC? I've always felt that they are one band who didn't get lame with age, and though I haven't listened to their latest, Kill and Evisceration Plague were great albums IMO.
Just curious.
Broke my leg in the pit at a King Diamond show during the opening band! Still stayed till the end!Oah yes, you never forget your first diamond... King Diamond that is
That's understandable, the records just don't Corpsegrinder and Alex justice compared to their live show. It's not that I don't like the new stuff, it really crushes live, but I just think the old classics work better on records. For some reason.

It's strange for me to say - especially on a bass forum - but the two metal bands that I've been listening to a lot recently don't have a bass player!
Slomatics & Black Cobra. The guitar tones are crushing and there's plenty of bass frequencies.
I also love KEN Mode, Anciients, Baroness. Some great bands from Portland - Toxic Holocaust, Sioux, and Wizard Rifle.
For my old school fix - Candlemass.
Love me some Toxic Holocaust!! Also looksl ike I have some new bands to check out. Didn't know TC was from Portland...[/QUOT
You can hear Sioux at their siouxtheband bandcamp page.
Just recently discovered them. Saw them in a really small club and it was great. One guitar, bass, keyboard, drums. Bass player played a lot of octaves (basically a power chord except muting the middle string). Sounds more natural than using an octave pedal. He was also using a new prototype from Mr. Black pedals (not sure what it will be called but is sounded great).
Yeah, I know, everytime I've seen them live I've just stood there in awe of how amazingly tight and professional they are. Definitely one of my all time favorite live acts. Much respect.
I'm a metal-head. I've been a metal fan since I was a kid. I'm into many different types of metal music. Here's what I'm into.
heavy metal
groove metal
industrial metal
thrash metal
power metal
symphonic metal
progressive metal
doom metal
gothic metal
melodic death metal
I also like hard rock(if that counts). Even though I like other types of music like dance music(i.e techno, trance, progressive, etc.), I've always enjoy listening to metal music.
