Ron Jarzombek from Blotted Science explain some of his concept, I never thought someone would do something with dodecaphonism and serialism.
Somthing a little more "light" this is BabyMetal and I discovered them at HeavyMtl this year, the label call them Kawaii Metal which mean Cute Metal

I consider myself a metalhead. Unfortunately, most of it's prog metal from prior to 2000. They're playing that stuff on "Oldies" stations now. 
(No offense, guys, but seriously.)
I have listened to a little bit of doom metal, and I'm impressed with the experimental quality of some of the stuff. I need to explore the genres more- there's a lot of depth to be plumbed.
