Hmm. Dunno how much you’d want to get wrapped in somebody else’s issues. A few years ago, I picked a late 90s Precision for a very decent price because I wanted to toy with a P bass During my meeting with the seller I learned inadvertently that he was helping his mom out with money. He really liked the instrument too. His only one, mind you. Ok ok. I’m thinking, what should I do? So, I gave him my number and the option of buying it back within 4 months at the same price. Actually, he called back in 5 months! Lol! With the cash. Yeah, I sold it back to him. Ironically, it worked out well for of both us cause then I needed the cash.
So, you gave him an interest free loan, or a pawn shop with zero fees. That's fine, but I don't want to wrap feelings and whatever into a sale. I'll likely just walk away instead of making the purchase. I also hate when people make a low ball offer on something I'm selling and then mention that they want to use it in church and God wants them to have it. Fortunately that hasn't happened for awhile here, but I used to get it frequently. So, I'm supposed to make up the money that the diety which created the universe isn't providing? Grrrrrrr...... (but that's another issue)

How about the "never" statements. A great way to enjoy the taste of your own words. I have found that a full bodied red goes well with never!I love absolute statements. So full of promise.

Actually the basses over that price are the tougher sell and often require more concessions in a down market. I've purchased a fairly ridiculous number of high dollar boutique instruments for under $2k.
So now we've lowered ourselves to taking advantage of others who are in a difficult predicament?
