Anyone here think instruments are about to get real cheap?

Actually the basses over that price are the tougher sell and often require more concessions in a down market. I've purchased a fairly ridiculous number of high dollar boutique instruments for under $2k.

That is from the buyer eye, the whole market can't really afford it.

Not even commenting about "the market", I'm commenting about recent comments of taking advantage of a person who can't afford to feed their children, so they're selling gear.
I've seen it myself first-hand at the pawnshops & it's really really sad!

1. If someone pawned something, it's already there. He/she made the deal with the broker. It's going to be sold no matter what.

2. The post you answered didn't say anything about someone in financial difficulty, only hat theyf Bette deals with higher prices gear. If someone bought a Squier for $350, they likely will find a buyer at a decent price pretty quickly. If someone bought a $9500 Fodera, unless they get lucky, they are either going to wait a long time for a buyer, or will have to dump it at a loss.

I also hate when people make a low ball offer on something I'm selling and then mention that they want to use it in church and God wants them to have it.

I still get that one all the time.

I always respond with "That's so crazy! I reason I bought this bass in the first place was because Allah gave me a sign during morning prayer"
