Argument in store over used bass

This is a sad day for all in Basstopia...

Everyone here would have reacted the same way: "Hey that's mine!!"
All you have here is a misunderstanding, Maybe he really didn't realize you were playing the bass and was offended when you came at him all annoyed (even if from your perspective you have every right to be annoyed)
TLDR= everyone in this thread wrong/right.

Or cut the two "owners" in half and leave the bass intact. That way you could also count the rings to tell their ages.

At least that's what the fundamentalists wanted to do to Salmon Rushdie...

No way I'm reading all 15 pages of this... 1 was enough.

I was in a guitar center once when I saw (actually my wife saw) a Warwick Streamer Pro M, new, for $499. At the time that was a $1400 bass they marked down insanely. I picked it up to check it out, did a couple of other things while still in the store ------ there was NO FRIKKEN WAY THAT BASS WAS LEAVING MY HANDS. You put the bass down and walked away. I'm sure that other guy is calling you a Dbag. And in my opinion (and it seems a lot of others), more rightfully so.

Is it common now for stores to let people rummage around their merchandise and pick up and fiddle around with whatever they want to? When I go into a store and see something I like, I ask permission to try it. If I see something else, I put it back and ask if I may try the other one. I suppose that if someone came along and walked off with the first one (this has never happened to me), I'd let it pass.

Most stores I've been in are like that--there are some with signs to ask before playing on higher end instruments, but not on everything.
I've been in stores that have signs that apply to everything, but then sometimes a salesman just tells me to check out anything I'm interested in & in one the salesman kept bringing me guitars to try out.

I think Ive figured this out: The salmon while spawning at the factory failed to fill out the form 27 stroke B-6 for requisition to modify his heating system, thus edward tuttle, freelance heating engineer was alerted. The bass was under ownership of the lackey directly responsible to the underlackey of the lackey reporting to the senior lackey in charge of the production line who technically owned the bass after it was assembled but due to corporate ownership policies couldnt own the said bass. The senior boss responsible for the head supervisor in charge of the middle management provider who the aforementioned senior lackey of underlackeys reported to technically had possesion of the bass during the period of manufacturing non ownership notwithstanding even though the retail sum had not been established pursuant to the form 27 stroke B-6 for salmon fisheries located near bass factories had his/her/their hands/appendages on the said bass in whole or parts first ergo they technically owned the non ownable bass.....look for a flow chart on this soon.
