Argument in store over used bass

OP- I'm going to compare you to another special breed of people in the world today.

At a fast-food restaurant what they do is stand back about 20 feet from the order counter. Because they have to get their "big mac" just right so it takes CAREFUl study of the menu for 10 minutes at least.
BUT- when you walk up to the counter to actually order while they ponder the mysteries of life, all of the sudden they are offended!
How dare you skip them and not stand 25 feet back while they take their sweet time to get their mc nuggets just the way they like them!

Not even close. Go look up the salmon posts.

That makes absolutely no sense.

In retrospect,I still feel I was in the right and if another dbag ever comes up being a dbag he is gonna get the same thing current dbag got.

If ppl wanna be rude I've got no problem putting them in their place.

One would hope after all this you would instead have learned not let go of the bass.

This thread is great! Just about as entertaining as the taco/stolen bass thread.
TB is boring sometimes, we all need this thread....keep it up!
Maybe a fav food element could be started by the OP.
What did you eat after this event?

I think you should re-evaluate who the "dbag" was. In typical "dbag" behavior you remain positive that you were in the right despite the fact that everyone else has made it clear that you weren't. You don't get to put dibs on a product in a store while you walk away to look at another one, especially when it's a steal.

People who disagree with you are probably the same people who thought it was OK to keep a second amplifier head that was accidentally shipped to a member a while back by one of the big box online stores.

No matter how many times people keep saying it, you didn't WALK OFF, you took a couple of steps away to get a another bass to try. Under their twisted logic, you could never compare basses because anything that isn't in your hands is fair game for anyone else to take. I think the fact that the store manager apologized makes it clear how they expect people to conduct themselves.

To really screw the pooch on the topic of this thread...

Last year, I ordered a Sennheiser EW300 G3 wireless IEM rig from Full Compass. Sennheiser drop-shipped the unit to me.

Two days later, another identical EW300 rig arrived at my door. That's strange...So I called Full Compass. It didn't come from them and they didn't order it.

So we called Sennheiser, who claimed no knowledge of a second order or second shipment. I was about to say, what the hell, keep the unit. But I had to try one more time to do the right thing. So I took pics of both units (I hadn't unpacked the first unit yet) still in their packaging. Sennheiser finally sent a call tag, along with a $100 gift card on anything Sennheiser. So it paid to be honest. Well, it would have paid off to be honest regardless, but I'd hate to piss off anyone with my beliefs about that on Thanksgiving.

As tedious and unproductive as it might seem at this point, you REALLY should read the entire thread to see just how wrong that statement is.

You're right. I read 6 pages out of the 17, didn't see anybody agreeing so I deduced that what I had read was the overall sentiment of the thread.

lfmn, I don't think that the store manager apologizing means anything. Their job is to please the customer, not be a moral authority. They were most likely just trying to calm a disgruntled customer. Since they didn't arrive until after the argument had ensued, they didn't have an objective perspective on the situation anyway.

This makes absolutely no sense.

One would hope after all this you would instead have learned not let go of the bass.

I would hope after this that anytime anyone with differing opinions goes in any retail store, a grocery store, clothing store, restaurant or any location and someone takes food out of the buggy, clothes they are trying on down from their fitting room door or food off their plate, they have absolutely no reason to be angry what so ever.

The fair game mentality is garbage. If you can't test out a product without fear of someone coming up snatching it,then I don't know how ppl are supposed to shop.According to this mentality even if I do take it up to the register for hold and someone comes along willing to purchase now it wouldn't matter.Fair game..

Even if I did hold onto it and dbag came up and grabbed it outta my hands. That would be ok too.Hasn't been paid for yet.Fair game..

I went into a store looking to purchase an item, someone came up being rude trying to take it,when clearly item was being tested for purchase. They were asked what they were doing, then informed about it being tested, then persisted about the item and put in their place.Did I own it yet? No, but there are unwritten rules of courtesy in retail and without these rules the whole retail system would be chaos.

So yes,I would gladly put another rude dbag in his place.

You would have grabbed it and purchased it had he put it down. Don't kid yourself.
