I posted this in another thread but thought I would post it here as well - sorry to sort of repeat Alembic83's post but didn't see any responses. Thanks!

I've been thinking about buying a 5 string bass and one of the local shops has a couple Aria 5 strings at what seem a nice price. I don't have a lot of experience with Aria so thought I would try to get some input here. I am looking at the Aria IGB68/5 and the Aria IGB 35/5. Both seem to play nice but have not plugged them in yet. Any thought? Thanks!

I've seen a number of people post on here that they can't find somewhere to buy Aria basses. My friend has a local shop and has a couple of Aria basses on sale. His website is
Link Removed Right now he has a Aria IGB 68/5 for $399.99 and an IGB 35/5 for $289.00. Check it out if you are interested. I was gonna buy the 35/5 but need to hold off for a while. Tell him Mark sent you.

Just got hold of a 1983 SB1000. This is my 2nd one in fact, the first one was of a darker wood and in better condition with the original pickups. This one has a dimarzio alchemy pickup i am told but everything else is stock.

Here are the pictures

And here is a short sloppy sound clip. You get bonus points if you know what song I'm playing. The strings and bass are both 6 years old, but never played.. it needs new strings. :) Recorded through my Sansamp BDDI, into a Tascam US-122 USB recording interface and into Cakewalk Guitar Tracks.

I'd describe the bass as having an average neck, and an average sound. I did want a backup for my Franken-P so this was it. It's got a nice feel to it, and a nice even sound. I like it, definitely worth what I paid, but probably not what they charge for a new one (600$!).

Can I join??

I just got this baby this week! :)

Its a 2007 Aria Pro II SB-1000CB, the first instrument of the year according to the sn.
