Arizona Bass Players

Prescott Valley checking in here. Dang, just found this thread, and it's cool to see some TB'ers from Arizona! I'm just re-emerging on the scene after an 11-year hiatus, so I'm not gigging with a band yet. But I got me some prospects...
A couple of you guys mentioned playing Jerome...The Spirit Room is an awesome venue. I've played there many times. Sedona too.

Hey Indiedog, to be honest I can't remember now. That was about 11 or 12 years ago, and last I checked some of the bars we played aren't even there anymore. I'm presently "coming back to life" after 12 years of caring for my mother with Alzheimer's, and in the process I forgot most of the bars' names!

Yeppers...lots of turnover of businesses in that town! I blame the roundabouts!

Kudos to you for taking care of your mother! There is a special place in heaven for you, Sir!

And I bet your bass playing will be miles above where you left off, despite not playing for awhile.
(I was always surprised that my drum playing got better even when I'd take off big chunks of time...the mind continues to "Play" even when the fingers don't.)

This was my experience. Stopped playing bass almost completely from about 2000-2006 and again roughly 2010-2013 and while I got a little rusty, I picked it back up pretty quick. Feel like I still got it!

Anyone know where to get in a jam or hear some good music in Tucson?
Can't help you with the Tucson scene, but just to let you know I live in Prescott Valley (90 miles north of Phoenix) and I drive all the way to Phoenix every week because I've found a great blues jam there, and the folks are fantastic. Believe it or not, I don't mind the drive. I wish you all the luck in the world.
