Army to shoot live pigs for training

Look man, it is obvious who you are and what you stand for. I do not agree with it, nor do I agree with anything you say but I am not going to cry if you say something I disagree with. If you look on the first page of this thread there are a few posts that, to my eyes, are criticisms of the practice; which is done by the troops. Opinions are opinions man, I just didn't want this to turn into an anti-war, anti-military, anti-whatever discussion. People outside the military do not understand the military, plain and simple.

It's funny you bring up "obvious", based on what you don't obviously know;)

I'm ex-military (USAF back in the 1970's), I'm pro-military and I don't have a problem with this particular policy because it will likely save lives and limbs by having soldiers get experience... battleground-like experience (minus the live rounds) beforehand. Since you don't agree with anything I say, you now have a bit of a dilemma... because you can't agree with that.
:eyebrow:

Instead of the complaining, I'd like for you, if you can, just answer the simple question I asked... who was blaming soldiers about anything IN THIS THREAD?
:hmm:

Who I am and what I stand for is something you pulled out of your butt. Don't hold me accountable for that.

As far as fox news is concerned, most people that hate it do not watch it. For EVERY issue discussed there is at least one liberal and one conservative, that is as fair as you can be (at least politically). The problem with fox is that other media is so slanted that we have grown accustomed to left-wing bias that even things in the center seem right-wing. Also, most of the criticisms are of opinion shows like O'Reilly, which is the most watched cable news program in history, or Hannity and Colmes where the brunt of the criticism is directed at Hannity (a conservative). The news shows like Special Report, The Fox Report, Studio B, The Live Desk, and Happening Now are news reports and all opinions are derived from liberal and conservative guests.

Your take on Fox is naive but it's yours and I won't begrudge you that. I do watch it and it's competition and that's why I know just how laughable it is. They do things that would embarass any serious journalist on a regular basis. Some people can't see that.

i simply thought it was hilarious. FOX news is nothing more than man-gossip here in the US, depending on who you ask (and you asked me, i'm assuming).
the info is not the issue, just the presentation. fair and balanced and all that...

can't vouch for its reputation in AUS.

How is FOX news any more biased than CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR, PBS, etc.... To those of us who lean right, they are "Fair and Balanced". It's kind of nice for us to not have to deal with the complete leftist bias of the other 10... and they're not all that conservative either. the much hated O'Reilly believes in Global Warming for pete's sake... Everything in life is biased. I prefer FOX because it seems less biased against what I believe.

Brad,

You DAMN well know what I'm talking about!! BIG name guests from BOTH sides OFTEN comment ON THE AIR, on FOX being fair to BOTH sides. Just look at who has appeared over the past few months. You don't see this on ANY other news channel. I know you'd rather gouge your eyes out than watch it so you'll have to trust me on this :)

MG - Not very funny. Posts like this are usually the ones that get people banned and threads locked. This is precisely the sort of post that I assume (as it's my opinion) Lowendmafia is talking about and in this case, I'm in full agreement with him.

Totally agree with you Relic.I just lost it for a sec. there.I'm a vegan myself,I can't even kill a fly because of the way I ephatisize.I'm kinda troubled there and the idea of killing animals as a way of training killing people touched me,deeply. :(

I deleted the post.

I don't know if this is just bad English, but IIRC they are killing the pigs so that they can help save the lives of soldiers.

No problem dude. Actually I'm with you on the killing thing. I just ran into the street a few mins ago to rescue a caterpiller.. I'm nuts.

Only place I differ is that sometimes I believe that such things, while nauseating, are necessary...
(you do realize that they were intending use to the pigs to train how to treat human casualties right? They weren't actually shooting the pigs to learn how to better shoot people - it's medical training, not combat training. Not sure if you followed that part)

Oh well,I can't think correctly at the moment.A person I know of passed away a few days ago and life&death issues makes me confused. I wrote it wrong sorry.Still killing animals in any way is still wrong IMO.Thats another story though.

Also there was more then in that post then Relic quoted.
The way that disturbes me really is this thing is a good thing when you think about it.But we could have lived all happily together and other pink stuff you know.:D

Considering I do watch Fox on a fairly regular basis, that's just one more person running with assumptions. Surprise.

But the question wasn't about FOX, it was about who said what you contend was said. All of the heat doesn't obscure the fact that you still haven't answered that question.

If their names are so BIG, name some because, despite what you choose to believe, I don't know who you're talking about. I guess you'd rather gouge your eyes out than dispense with the drama and deal with a simple question.

Was this fair and balanced or just juvenile?:
