As old as this thread may be, it was enlightening. I'm Indian myself (though I was born in Holland and raised in the US.) I'm not really up with the Indian rock scene since, well, the only Indian music I can get access to is that Bollywood synth pop stuff. I'm sure there are some Indian bassists out there tearing it up in the underground that I don't know about. I can only imagine how Indian classical music would sound on a fretless.

I have an Mp3 of Level 42 playing a question and answer solo thing with Casiopea. Man that was amazing! The guitarists/bassists/keyboardists take it in turns to solo battle eachother. It's one of the most impressive things I've ever heard!

Tetsu of L'arc~en~Ciel is probably one of the best bassits I have EVER heard! And I can't believe there isn't more talk of him in this thread or this forum! And don't even get me started on his line of some of the most sexy basses I've ever seen! And I'm not even azn. I'm whiter than paper ^__^
