i know this thread is ancient. but i just jammed with dondi (im not a bassist im a guitarsist hehe) in one club here in the pi (with wally gonzales), and im now officially a fan :bassist:

btw he's using an RJ bass, i believe its one of his designs for RJ. its a green four string. its got seymour duncans he said.

this guy is the best i've ever heard... evar

As old as this thread may be, it was enlightening. I'm Indian myself (though I was born in Holland and raised in the US.) I'm not really up with the Indian rock scene since, well, the only Indian music I can get access to is that Bollywood synth pop stuff. I'm sure there are some Indian bassists out there tearing it up in the underground that I don't know about. I can only imagine how Indian classical music would sound on a fretless.

Well, there is Prashant Aswani as a guitar hero.

I have an Mp3 of Level 42 playing a question and answer solo thing with Casiopea. Man that was amazing! The guitarists/bassists/keyboardists take it in turns to solo battle eachother. It's one of the most impressive things I've ever heard!

No Doubt's bassist is definitely awesome, and the same goes for John Myung!

I guess I could count as Asian in a way, I'm from Iraq, does that still count?
