Assembling a 'tractor' jazz bass clone/tribute.

This can't be lake placid blue. But it is what I got out of three spray cans. I covered it with amber clearcoat. It has 3 coats of clear.

3 coats of white basecoat, 5 coats of undefineable blue and 3 coats of amber clear. Now the body needs 15 days of rest before it can be buffed.

So I started the new year with ordering from another manufacturer (Boston) another rattle can with lake placid blue. I hope to show you soon some more progress.

Ordered from Amazon. A set of guitar tools. To setup the bass. I did a spray out with the Boston lake placid blue rattlecan. You can see the flake in the spray out. I still had to do some painting but I acquired a control24 (digidesign) and some db25 to jack and xlr snakes and a 4x10 session 100 watt 4x10 combo. So My weekend was filled with travel.

This weekend a trip is planned to pickup the new to me Session 100 watt 4x10 combo from the '80's. After that I will continue the tractor jazz bass build.

The session sessionette bass compact 100 is in. It was a long drive. I just plugged it in. The compressor is ... I dunno... maybe broken or maybe not my cup of.... jenever... Anyhoo... Besides of that it plays nice. I need to go over it to see if and how I am gonna fix it up.

Interestingly, the Session manufacturer is still in business. That's friggin cool. I could even find a schematic for it.

This morning I used my vacuum machine with a sock over it to suck a dent out of the right bottom 10 inch celestion speaker. The cone was dent in. It's now (allmost) invisible.

It looks like I can glue back the fabric and with a scrub, some green soap and water, some clean towels I think I can get this 4x10 combo to look nice again.

I've been working on another project. I had bought alot of second hand parts to create a home musicroom with Protools HD 10. I had a control24 that has some failing electronics. I bought a second control24. The one you see here. I tried it and it works. It's a work in progress. So the bass is still drying in it's case. Ready to be sanded down and to use a new lake placid blue to see if that will make a difference.

Succes. The desk and all is working. Tomorrow a day off. Hope I can shoot (and first sand the body and neck headstock down) a new coat of lake placid blue.

Just painted the neck and the body with the new brand lake placid blue. You see it turning mat because of the fine flake in there.... (finally....).... Now it has to dry. So I can put a logo on it and then do the gloss.

For someone who is reading. My Boston spraypaint with lake Placid blue saved the day

The blue shadow is in the paint. I had the logo on. Wanted to clear. Grabbed the wrong can and used lpb on it. So I sanded it down. Put new blue on it. Then I put new decals on it and cleared it. Somehow there is this dark spot in the paint.

Now it has to cure for a couple of days.
