My wife says I'm a much easier person to live with when I'm doing bass cabs than when I'm doing home audio. Wish I was better at switching back and forth! But I kinda get into one mode or the other, and then I gotta just ride that train.

Very cool Duke. I might be order a 115 from you then. Thanks! I had to sell my 115 due to a failing marriage and financial calamity but I am solid again now and want it back! I love my 112 and so far it hasn't let me down volume wise, but I want more volume and a little more low end, and I like the idea of more aggressive mids. I am also consider a 212 for when I just need to crush it volume wise. In any case, the combination of the GK mb1001 head with its grindy mids and your TC112 is giving me the best tone I have EVER had (also thanks to my kick-ass Lakland 44-64) so thanks for making a great cab that lets it come though.

Did Duke move to Mckinney or Allen? Im in Mckinney.. I need to unload a few things but i want to see what fits my needs better the 1855 or TC115.
I really want a on cab deal that i can use on larger gigs and club gigs... That can do CLEAN as well take some Mild OD and still sound authentic.. No tweeter for me.
I can do most gigs with my older Genz Uber 115 with a 3015 type. Sometimes. Rarely , but sometimes i need to use both of my Uber 115s on larger gigs.

I'm in Princeton, east of you a bit. I forgot to update my profile, but it's there now.

I'll give you a holler when I have an 1855 to show off (briefly) before it gets shipped. Wish I had a bunch of cabs on hand to just let people try, hopefully that day is coming but I gotta fill orders first.

Don't think of it as a tweeter. It's more of the whole sound of the cab. I have a TC115-8 and it's an incredible cab. One of these days I'd like to try the 1203 and compare them.

Interesting, thanks. The horn kill switch on mine is night and day and I never ever use it. The other one is much more subtle, but still plenty different by my standards. Have you ever tried playing canned music through your cab and playing with the switches?

Kevin, your TC112 is a first-generation v1, 4-ohm cab. That means the top switch is the horn kill switch, and the bottom switch is the attenuator switch (top end switchable between 3.5 kHz and 17 kHz).

Duke doesn't make 'em like that anymore, so you have a potential collector's item - if you want to think of it that way. :thumbsup:

Producer switches are switches on your bass that don't connect to anything. Lee Sklar liked to talk about his 'producer switch' that was on his number one studio bass. The producer would say "can you brighten up the tone' and he would flip the switch and play a few notes and the producer would say "perfect." 9 x out of 10. Thanks for letting me know. Perhaps in my loud rock band context I am not hearing the subtleties of the switches. I'll experiment with them further. Still loving it FYI. I can't believe how well it cuts through my band with just a 112.

In my personal experiences and observations, Duke has proven to be nothing short of a brilliant engineer, builder, an excellent and kind businessman, and a friend to everyone he talks to. Those are rare characteristics to occur in a single person. I can't wait to be able to represent his craftsmanship and expertise as a Thunderchild owner. I tried one of the 112 prototypes, and I swear that thing broke the laws of physics. This 15 is certain to be a thing of beauty.
