This particular area is pretty famous for visitors, if that's what you mean. My former bandmates who've lived around here forever have all kinds of stories.

The weather here has been beautiful. 50's in the morning, 80's late afternoon. Crystal clear. But the lack of rain is getting to be a bit of a problem.

In Seattle this week for a conference, I can't wait to get home to the nice weather of November in Wisconsin!

Has anyone heard if Duke is planning to go into production with the Birhaus? I've got loads of jazz / Americana gigs on one of the prototypes now, and after that time have had nothing but success. I'm pretty content with how it sounds, and the rest of the band likes how easy it is to hear anywhere we play. I do have to admit having a little GAS for a TC.

The waiting is the hard part. BUT, you are gonna love it once you get it!

The waiting was especially hard for me and a few others that had orders in when I did. I hope Duke doesn't mind me sharing this. It was taking a good bit longer than expected. See, Duke had an accident and hurt himself, so it put a little kink in his production. And we didn't hear from him in a while. Then he came on the board and updated us.
We were all glad he wasn't seriously injured, although it was pretty bad.
But when my cabs arrived, it was great! Best cabs I have ever played through!
The honeymoon has long been over and they still sound great! Matched with a Monique 700 rackmount, it is Heaven!

I had to take a break from playing for a while (big family obligations that I wanted to be a part of and concentrate on) but I'm gettin' ready to get back into gigging some. Can't wait.

Having great gear makes it so much fun.

Duke, belatedly: Man, I am very sorry to hear about your accident. There is no doubt that you were altogether more composed and rational about it than I would have been if it were me. Props to you.

When I was a teen, I did lose the tip of my right thumb, though. When it was done healing the best it could, I was left with no tactile sensation in the area (pressure sensation only), a bit less thumb, and a much harder fingertip.

Now decades later, that's my indispensable double thumbing digit for bass guitar. Sometimes I do consider that maybe the event was for the better therefore. So stay strong and positive: you never know what good may come of it! Take good care. Get well soon.

Lenny likes his 110 and the red P lyte. I like the 1203's. So now Lenny has a P lyte and I have a triple hathor stack. And some sort of mental defect.

I'll try.

Duke was telling us about some things that are in the conceptual stage at the moment, so I don't know if he wants any announcements made or details announced in case the idea doesn't pan out in testing. Now, for what I feel I can tease/reveal.

dinoadventures is dead on in calling the idea "monstrous" in the context of the Hathor and Thunder Child designs in that picture, not monstrous in the Ampeg 810 fridge sense. (though it is fun dreaming of a Hathor 810 that could be heard in neighboring states, isn't it? :cool:) By necessity of the driver configuration and because Duke is the type of guy to pay close attention to the needs of his customers, it'll be a wide enough cab to comfortably seat some hefty amps. I'm spoiling nothing when I say that the upcoming project that dinoadventures teased is an example of Duke following one of his primary guiding lights in design: dispersion.

Duke and I were the last two there and spent the better part of an hour doing our physics geek out thing and talking about his upcoming work and the evolution of the AudioKinesis bass line up to this point. It amounted to me getting a free lecture on speaker cabinet design principles from a man I consider to be a master of the craft. Duke's face lit up when I told him about how I've used my TC112 in the context of a physics classroom too, which was a joy.
