So back OT, I read a couple of pages back, something about a 4/8 ohm switch, is that available on the 15 based cabs? I know for me that would be a pretty big plus. Even though I have an amp that's capable of driving two four ohm loads. Also do the Changling cabs have the top vents or rear firing mid or both?

The Changeling 15 does not have a 4/8 switch but the Hathors do. Changelings have top and side vents and rear firing mids. Hathors have no rear firing mids.

I have a Changeling 15 and it is awesome. But if the 4/8 switch is a big deal, I am sure the Hathor 1533 is amazing too.

the thing we did was not formally recorded. we did do a live tv festival in yugoslavia, but i have a feeling that the video got destroyed in the cival war. too bad. killer band that flatout roared (julius hemphil, leader/saxphone; bill frisell and nels cline, guitars; alex cline (nels' twin bro), drums; jumma santos percussion; yours truly, bass)

I asked Duke about that. Sure it’s posdible but he didn’t recommend it.

I struggling with this very same decision. C115 or C112T.... Duke tells me he can also do a C115T but has yet to build one of those.

I have a C1533T on order. Not sure if it’ll be the first or not. I’m bouncing off the walls pretty bad though. Jonesing, even.

A drummer friend here I grew up with, has played with John Zorn many times. I've been into this stuff since I was a kid. I got to hang around the AEC for a couple of weeks, when they stayed with my friend. I was also privileged to take lessons from Malachi Favors during their stay. Oops derail, sorry.

Had one of the first 1505's to try out and found the mids to be way to aggressive for me.
I assume Duke is still using the 5" Eminence driver. Much prefer the Faital mid driver.
I prefer the tone of the TC-115. Much smoother and excellent definition.
GAS is a cruel teacher.

By request, I took a pic of the 1533 and 1203 in a slightly different configuration. Surely the idea is to stack a micro on top, but I went a different direction with amp placement .

There are two more pics showing how easily a larger amp clears the 1533 top vents. The front feet of the Ashdown are pushed flush against the back edge of the front corner protectors, and there is less than half an inch of chassis overhang at the rear. The amp sits securely with no wobble.

Oh, and on Sunday I had a chance to play it with a drummer. This thing gets LOUD.

Since weight and size are a concern for many of us, I want to emphasize again that the 15" Hathor is an easy carry. This was a surprise because it looks so much larger than the 1203. It's light enough to one-hand with the top strap or one of the side handles. But those recessed 4-way side handles make the two-hand carry seem as easy as carrying the 1203 by its top strap. Pull it right up to your chest with elbows tucked beside your torso, under the shoulders--the load stays mostly on your legs. It's easy to make hand position adjustments inside the handles when it's time to lift or lower the cab. I never had a cab this large carry this easily, especially through doorways.

How do you like the D800 coupled with it?

I don’t have any basis for comparison but I love it! The variable HPF is really useful and I love that I can just hit the Deep switch to get extra low end. There are a lot of knobs though and sometimes I fall down the “tweaking” rabbit hole for a bit too long. But for playing with the band, I just set it and forget it.

Mothership has landed...
Magellan 800 on top of a Hathor 1203 on top of a Hathor 1203T.
Damn...they just sound so good together, even at a low volume.
May have to bring em both tonight. Thank you Duke!
ps...seems pretty secure for now even though the corners are different types,
being the previous 1 port 1203.
