Had an excellent jam last night. Used both boards and every pedal on them at one point or another and the TC112v3 was awesome. All ports open, top switch up, bottom switch down. Great compliments on the clarity of my rig.

Ok, file this under "preaching to the choir", but...
Just made it back from rehearsal, where I tried an AK cab for the first time (huge thanks to fellow Montrealer @lomo for letting me borrow his Hathor 1203). All I can say is "Wow". I don't want to use the word "revelation", but it's pretty darn close.
With the cab being so small, I was concerned I couldn't hear it well, so at first I set it up on a chair. I brought up the volume gradually and heard some buzzing: I was concerned I was already pushing the cab a bit hard (even though it wasn't quite loud enough yet to play with the band) but it turned out to be just the plastic chair rattling (duh), so I sat the cab on the floor and then sweet-baby-Jesus was I impressed.
Loud enough with some room to spare, playing with a loud drummer, a loud-ish guitar player, keys, a sax, a trombone and a trumpet. The Quilter was set with the gain at 4 and the master volume around maybe 75%. Last time I tried this with the PJB Suitcase and the extra PJB cab (8 x 5'' drivers total), I had the amp pretty much dimed and I was still getting buried. The single AK with the Quilter is MUCH louder than my 100 lbs PJB rig. At least I can hear myself much, much better, that's for sure (I even had to turn down).

The boring but actual answer to this is "I don't know" : This is not our usual room, so I have never played through the Mesa + 8x10 rig pictured. Since I only had 2 hours, I was really focused on trying the new amp and the AK cab with the band so I didn't bother using the other rig at all. Our usual room has an Ampeg B4R driving a 2x15 (there's a "p-touch" type label made by the studio staff that says "acoustic 2 x 15" on it, but there is no brand name to be seen on the cab - can't say if it's really an Acoustic cab).
Next rehearsal is next Wednesday: I'll either bring the Hathor/Quilter combo again to try different port configurations, or I'll only bring the Quilter and hook it up to the studio's 2 x 15'' to compare its output to the Ampeg's. Worst case scenario the Ampeg-Quilter comparo will happen the week after next. My gut feeling is that the Quilter will be just as loud as the 40 lbs Ampeg head - if not louder.
So in conclusion : Since the PJB rig was just borderline for stage volume, and the setup I tried yesterday felt much louder (and more than enough for what I do), I've decided on a single "Tall" Changeling 112 for now.
This could really be a game changer for me : I'm a city dweller and use public transportation almost exclusively. One of the very few situations where I still need to use a car is when I gig, but with the right piece of luggage or the right cart, I could take the subway, the bus, or walk to the gig most of the time.

The Quilter/Hathor combo just can't be beat imho. Match made in heaven.
