- I play it all. Whatever works for the gig. Q+
I have read thru this thread and understand that the 1203 type cab uses the Eminence 3012LF.. That is a potent driver.
In theory I think that a Pair of the 1203T cabs can and will exceed the output of almost ALL 410 type cabs, by a fairly large margin!
My current 3015 style 2 way cab has about 505 cm^3 of displacement.
I guess the cm^3 is NOT the only thing to consider in cab design.. I am NOT an expert.. Im a bass player, that can fiddle with some simple math.. So i may be completely wrong with my calculations below..
I have been doing some Math.. PLEASE feel free to correct me if i am wrong... I am NOT an expert with this.
Eminence 3012LF
• Xmax peak = 9.10 mm
• Sd = 545.4 cm^2
Volume Displacement -Vd = 545.4 x 0.910mm = 496.3 cm^3
But when TWO 1203T's are used together , that would be about 992 cm^3 !
That's a pile of AIR if i calculated correctly..
So it seems these cabs can deliver some decent low end while having articulation too.!.
