I seriously thought about the Bergantino B amp before buying the D800+. Love that it has cabinet modeling and presets and youtube videos sounded really good. Ultimately, the parameter screen is what made me decide against it, having had bad experiences with effects gear with similar screens and trying to scroll through pages to get at what's needed during a live performance. Maybe that's unfair, but it was the difference. Now that I have the 800+ my only complaint is the type above the knobs is so tiny and is hard to read. I may wind up putting a piece of tape above certain parameters. Otherwise, it's an incredibly versatile head and I'm really enjoying it.

Somewhere in the Subway/D-800/D-800+ mega-threads there are templates you can print off to place on top of your head. IIRC agedhorse and/or maybe someone else did them...my guess is a quick search will locate them.

got together with @nostatic yesterday to listen to the wd-800 (?). sorta like the d800+, but mo betta, imho. eq seems very usable. less boxy on the low end to my ear. checked it out with both a changeling tall and the tc112 v1.

I hope this will be addressed in subsequent versions. I still love the amp, this hasn't spoiled it for me, just an area that could be improved upon imho.

I got spoiled years ago with a Hartke 1400 slant face head that seemed like the way every control panel should be on a bass amp. Of course someone who loved to stacked cabs vertically and sat to play might have disagreed.

I suspect we will start to see top labeling on future products, and perhaps even with glow in dark type lettering.

The TC112 sounded great with the WD800 - a bit better to my ear than the C1203T, and that is saying something.

The phantom noise in one of my 1203s is gone. I play 'em, I don't wrench on 'em. It's just gone. Girlfriend postulates I had smoked some contaminated weed. Very funny, sweetheart.

You could try something like a rubber doorstop to tilt a small head up atop a cab, if you don't already tilt up the cab.

Thanks! And the new ones are even better I'm sure. In actuality, I'll probably only use one of the two for most gigs. They do sound different, and I can see myself leaning towards one or the other depending on the gig.

Yeah, thanks for selling to D. We were talking about your sweet rigs today. The only thing I'd want for at this point is something smaller (I did get some raised eyebrows at a jazz gig) but I'm good. Having the two twelves is probably ideal.

I'm still amazed at how much 5 string goodness one can get out of a single Hathor 12 given its diminutive size. It just doesn't look like it should work. Someday I may add a 15 underneath if the gigs ever get that big.
