there's lot to be said for optimism, but like newton said, bodies at rest tend to stay at rest, and with all the crap duke & family has gone through, plus the continuing supply chain issues, etc. i remain doubtful. duke seems like a great soul, but he is not superman.

A great way to keep a thread alive is by recollecting and celebrating milestones. Here's one of my faves

Over ten years later, still enjoying the spaciousness of the rear firing tweeter in the TC212, along with the glory of the TC in its entirety. So much music and enjoyment from that great cabinet. Thanks, @DukeLeJeune !

Wow, a real blast from the past there. The year before that Michael played through my then brand new TC112AF, also in Boise. I reacquired that cab in July, having owned a TC118AF for a year that never left my house. The guy who bought my TC112 traded up to the 118 cab, and we're both super happy. I'm not playing bass much at all these days, but the 112 absolutely kills with my new main squeeze:

I worked up a filter preamp pedal with separate filters for the magnetic and piezo pickups, with a stereo cable running off a TRS jack on the dojo, and then summing to a blended mono output. The prototype uses two pedals, but the final version which should be here in a week or two will look like so:

The magnetic channel has the bass and mid controls, the piezo is on the resonator cone and doesn't really make enough bass and low mid content to need that. I'm sure this craziness would inspire Duke in some unpredictable way if he heard it, just like my EUB did the first time we met up in Seattle. ;)

Good luck at the ski area Mal. I mixed a few shows up there, as you know it can be challenging. I'll ping you about a few meetup possibilities, maybe one of the newer open mics in HR would work?

The dojo is primarily meant for Open G tuning, but I've found Open E to sound much better (it gets very sitar-ish) and to be a lot easier to grok since it lays out more like a guitar. The drone string has spike capos, but I think just retuning on the fly actually works best. The resonator pickup blend acts a lot like a reverb control, and then the TC cab's back firing tweeter enhances that a bit more. Good times!

I do all of the wood cutting myself these days. Here in the Dallas area the best thing is the booming economy... and, the worst thing is the booming economy. Let me explain:

Cabinet-making shops with CNC machines have zero interest in doing work for me. None of them - and I mean NONE of them - would even talk to me about it. They would much rather make the big bucks by cranking out kitchens rather than dink around cutting up sheets of plywood into complicated little pieces. One lone woodworker with a CNC machine did quote me some prices that I couldn't begin to afford. For a short time I was having CNC cutting done by an aerospace company that had some down time in between big jobs, but still it was costing me several times as much as in Idaho. (In Idaho the economy was not booming and so the cabinet making shops were hungry for business).

So now I do all of the cutting myself. Tablesaw the boards to the proper dimensions, jigsaw for rough cuts, routers and jigs for finishing cuts. I built a router table based on a design I saw on YouTube so I can do rabbets (for strong corner joints) and dados (grooves for internal braces and partitions), just like what I was having done on a CNC machine.

There are definitely advantages to doing it all myself. I'm much more master of my own fate (for better or for worse), and I can make changes much more easily. I am also better able to do prototyping and refine the designs as needed.

So slagheap, if your pair of Hathor 1203's qualifies for your comment above, then apparently I've been able to keep the build quality up. Thanks for letting me know!

Duke is not only a true innovator but a straight shooter who is very transparent about his operations and associated lead times. You have to respect a "one man band operation" where the products make the kind of music Duke's do.

Understandable, but the cab was posted four days ago. OP might not have checked in to TB since for any of a number of reasons.
