I will certain test both options. Having a little overhang of the amp isn't a big deal as long as it sits solid and I have no reason to believe it won't be.
I've run my TC112 rig that way pretty much always. A shallow SKB rack case seems plenty solid on there to me -- I've used 2, 3, and 4 space ones at one time or another.

Thanks, that's reassuring. My SKB is the full size one, and it's a six space. However, I did some measuring and I think it will fit just fine. It's not like I'm gonna have a pack of crazed female groupies charging the stage, fighting over me, knocking over my gear, throwing me on the fl...............

Put the SKB on the floor, cab on top. Since you are seated, shouldn't be a problem getting to the controls.
