AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

Hmmm... not that I'd ask for it any time soon, but would a retrofit/speaker trade be feasible down the road?

Shoot me an e-mail and we can talk about a possible option.

The compact TC 115 would be perfect for me if I could find one used.

The TC-115 will be coming back in a few months.

I found the Streamliner too "polite" to be a good match with the first-gen Thunderchild.

It's an incredible piece of engineering, but the broad low mid bump and mid/upper mid trough that help it to smooth out grindy cabs like the G-K Neo 112's, didn't please me when paired with the TC112.

IME, the TC pairs better with heads that have some bark to them- GB Shuttles, G-K MB series, etc.

Steve, I'm running this combo (MB500 - TC112 4ohm) and I'd be interested to know what settings you've liked on the amp (for a given bass/genre, perhaps).

I think an 1855 will be in my future. Or something. I have this odd thing now where I just want to collect A-K cabs.

If by some chance you fail to come to your senses and actually decide to go there one day, your rig would beat up any other two-cab AudioKinesis rig I can think of. Though I haven't actually built one yet, I could easily do an 8-ohm version of the 1855. And here I am pretending to be your friend and waving temptation in your face. I probably should feel guilty.

Wave away, Duke. We'll be talking later this year... I've already blown a few people away on the TC118. I'll be blowing more minds as the year goes, too. Then, I'll run the TC118 off one side of my QSC, and the 1855 off the other. Mwa hahaha.

I do owe you another beer if you're in Seattle area anytime in the future :) Maybe you can fly up for the 2016 GTG!

Has the 2015 GTG already happened?

Sorry to see you leave the area Duke, I was planning to ride up on the Harley and chew the fat with you.

That woulda been great!

I might be in Ogden this Saturday (house closing got kicked to next week). If you have a few minutes, maybe we could cross paths. I hope to be shipping a couple of experimental cabs out for evaluation on Monday (they're big cabs, so if I can ship 'em before the move, that frees up some space). If you might like to check 'em out I could probably bring 'em to Ogden. Will your bass and an amp fit on the Harley? Shoot me a PM if this is a possibility.

Any news about a Hathor 1555?

It will probably be a 1505 (only one 5" cone). Eminence has prototyped a custom woofer for me, 4 ohms, Kappalite motor. It's closer to the 3015 than to the 3015LF, but with a different cone that has characteristics I really like for bass guitar, which can smoothed out via a switch, giving two distinct voicings like the little 1203 has. I'll be using this same woofer in a revised TC115, as I got a request from one of my customers for a cab with "growly mids but hifi top end".

Nope, not yet Duke. I wasn't sure how things would fit with your schedule for 2015's - I'm planning it for late April or May. I'll PM you more details in a few days, as to not hijack this thread too much :)

Ah, thanks for letting me know. There are several high-end home audio shows in that same timespan, and I may be attending one (or more) of them, so I won't be in Seattle this year.
