Cost for a cheap wood CNC'd cabinet: 40 dollars
Cost for plastic corners, jack plates, misc junk: 5 dollars
Cost for covering: 10 dollars
Cost for a 3015LF: 100 dollars
Cost for an Alpha 6CBMR OEM: 30 dollars
Cost for a prefab crossover: 30 dollars
Cost for a cheap horn: 15 dollars
Overhead: ???
Total: 230 + ???

I'd guess at 399 they're making enough to cover their overhead at least. Probably not a profit, but for a small business paying all your employees is enough.

Buying stuff in bulk and only having to add the baffle to the CNC program is pretty boss

I'm thinking about jumping in as well, but would have to move my Schroeder 1215 first. Then going from 40 lbs to 60 , and wondering if my LMII has enough juice to push it at 4 ohms.

IMO, the LMII has the shuttle beat in the power department hands down, so you should be totally fine with it. That's what I'll be using for the cab if I get one.

As for casters, Home Depot has cheap 4" removable ones that pop right out if you're worried about floor coupling. They don't really help me with stairs though.

This "shuttle has less power than the LM2" stuff has got to stop. The MB500 is at least as loud as the LM2 and F1, if not louder, and it uses the exact same power module in the Shuttle 6 as far as I can tell.

I've owned the Shuttle 6 and the F1 and the MB500, and if you ignore knob position and crank to the same volume, they are just about the same for me all around. My shuttle 9 is louder than the MB500 (although not significantly) when dimed, but it takes much different knob positions to get there.

The shuttle 6 with a 4 ohm Avatar 15/6 should knock your socks off!

Update: first TB153 in Canada is now rockin' the suburbs. The only instrument I have right now that's not in pieces is my Brice (Rondo) 6-string; the cab easily handles the low B, and the upper registers sound fantastic. I'll be trying it out sometime in the near future with a loud metal drummer and guitarist, so we'll see how well it cuts through then, but for now I'm very, very happy.

edit: mine's an 8ohm, powered by a Hartke LH500 (so going at 350w).

Here is another vid Showcasing the new Avatar TB153 bass cab: The bridge pup and neck pup are in equal balance showcasing a little 'fatter' sound. I know that the EQ setting are also different than in the first vid, but cannot recall the specifics. Fender CS Jazz bass thru Genz Benz Shuttlemax 6.0 + a Few Scotch on the Rocks by this point!!

Great vid and nice funky playing there!

Question - how easy was it for you to hear the cab on stage? One thing I love about my Schroeder is that it is a great stage monitor with the slanted 12. I hate to lose that.

Not to hijack this thread, but I also owned a 6.0 and sold it cause the LMII blew it away in tone and volume IMHO, YMMV, yadda yadda yadda.
