I pulled the trigger a couple days ago as well and patiently waiting for next weeks shipment. Going to match it with a LMIII and looking forward to that full deep sound it looks to produce.

My LDS 15/6 has the 18sound mid and no tweet. Sounds like I'd have to find someone knowledgable enough to build and install a new xover for both cabs, since I have zero skills in this area:( Bummer, since the LDS cab is almost 20 lbs lighter. My TB153 is waiting at my office....but I'm away and won't get to play it until Sunday:bassist:

Had this question a couple times now:

DO NOT take a 4 ohm 3015LF from Dave's cabs and put it in a fEarful with a Greenboy specced crossover, or any 8 ohm specced crossover. It will range from not working well to creating magic smoke.

If you're retrofitting a fEarful, it'd be safe to use Dave's 4 ohm crossover in place of the GB specced crossover, but it will not sound as good with the 6nd410 as something designed for the woofers. It'd be a lot safer than just using GB's 8 ohm crossover, though.

Email Ralf is how I'd roll. I am nearly positive he could give you a pretty solid sounding generic crossover. It might require you mailing him the woofer for measurements though.

Well, 1st I'll spank the cab and see if I want to go through all the hassle or simply deal with the extra weight of the Avatar.
Having the best of both worlds is VERY appealing, however.
BTW-who's Ralph?

I've read nearly all of the 33 pages but can't find a deifinitive answer as to how much power this cab needs. Have been told that the fEarful design really wants to see more than the 300 Watt (at 4 ohms load) of say an SVT or Mesa WA.

Anybody have experience as to what kind of power is necessary as well as the obvious direct comparison to LDS / fEarful designs?

Anybody seen this?

It's at the other end of the scale, too small to go deep, with a woofer with too short an xmax to handle more than 100 watts. And as for this in the ad copy: The woofer is also angled down 45 ... to bounce the bass sound off the floor or stage to generate a natural delay.

Necessary for what? It doesn't 'need' any specific power level; no cab does. Longer xmax means it can take more power, not that it needs more.

I've played the combo and it sounds very good.
I bought the MB10 and it's a killer unit.

I am also anxious for more reviews. The more I gig mine, the more I love it. I cranked my Avatar TB153 the other night because we played a good size room without the ability to run the bass thru the PA (which was lacking subs) and I was blown away by how much clean deep bottom this cab can throw. It really filled out the bottom of the mix nicely. Anyone else gigged one yet?
