So, I want to just temporarily highjack this thread to ask you expert Avatar owners a question. I'm getting a neo cab and I could afford to go with a Berg AE410 or an Epi ul410. Can anyone here make a non price related argument as to why I should consider the Avatar neo410 instead. I know it sounds silly but the price point makes me a little suspicious so you guys put my fears at ease and save me $600 in the process!
ive never played any of those super expensive fancy bergs or epi's but I can tell you that I have zero complaints about my avatar.. it doesnt STAND out to me with an amazing quality, but the reason I find it to be a good cab is BECAUSE I dont notice it... it does what its told without a fuss or any signs of low quality whatsoever.
I got a 2x10 in black tolex coming in to pair up with my other 2x10, I'll put up a pic next week when I get it.

I don't have any experience with Berg or Epi...sorry! I can't make a fair judgement there. My experiences are with Avatar, SWR, Ashdown, Ampeg and Fender.
I can tell you that the Avatar I own (2x12) is both articulate and 'strong' sounding, but not in your face. It's warmer sounding than SWR, and a little more clear than Ashdown, more present than Ampeg. These are just my opinions!
Avatar is a great value to be sure, but your ears must really be the judge. If you love Epi or Berg, well...vive le difference! They have a fantastic rep. Try them out and see how you like their character, but if there is something they lack, post it here and we can tell you if the Avatar can do it or not.

HA!! Yeah, that won't be the stage setup, but it sure looks imposing sitting in my dining room like that!!
I scaled up the mountain of speakers with my sherpa. The donkey carried the Ampeg on his back and we camped at the top for a couple of days. You know, just to enjoy the thin air.
I am this -> <- close to ordering some Avatars, but I'm torn about what the right combination would be. I'm thinking of ordering either a 210 and a 112 or a single 212. I play a 5-string and we tend to play a variety of different sized gigs - small cafe up to 500 seat theater and outdoor events. So I want to make it modular. Sometimes maybe a 112 would be sufficient, sometimes add the 210.
One question is: if I use the 210 and 112 together, am I basically limiting myself to 250 watts because of the 112 if I chain them? I have a 2 channel power amp, so I could run them on separate channels, but if I drive the 210 closer to 500 watts, will the 112 not be able to keep up and get lost? Maybe I should just go with a 212 and add a 210 later? How does a pair of 112s sound compared to a 212? Or maybe a pair of 210s. How well do they carry a low B?
