recover the head and the bottom cabinet :] they have orange tolex on ebay :]
I plan on giving the 212 a duratuff (or whatever it's called) coating in orange sometime in late spring. as far as the head, I'll leave that for someone more daring. The Avatars go really good with the head. 1st gig with the new config tomorrow. Can't wait.
Here is an updated rig picture. I replaced the stock ceramics in my B410 for some eminence S2010 basslite neo speakers. It's light as a feather and sounds even better. These neo cabs are ****ing amazingly and full of tone! Hartke LH500 on top:
hows the bx1200 sound, i just got to use mine at practice through a gk 8ohm 4x10 cab sounded great. im ordering a b410 neo tomorrow!
Have you tried the Carvin BRX 10.4? Might want to do that before ordering the Avatar.
is it that much better? my ONLY drawback is that i might not fit in my car (toyota yaris), but i might just go back to carvin and try it out (sacramento store is close)
I don't know. I've never played an Avatar 4x10. I was just so impressed with the BRX 10.4 that I bought it on the spot. I wasn't even looking for an exact type of cab but it won out in my A/B of the other Carvin cabs. The Avatar does have the weight advantage but slightly lower power handling. So I'm no longer looking to get a Avatar 4x10 but I'm still interested in their 2x12.
well my thinking was getting it in 8ohms and running it bridge at 800w, then being able to add another 4x10 or 2x12 down the line. wont be possible with the carvin being 4ohms. avatar is cheaper and i don't mind the carpet.
ok, the guy I got the avatars from said he had no idea the 15 was bad because he never tried to play high volume. So he says he is sending me a check for 140 dollars to get a new driver.. I MIGHT be able to put 10 or 20 with it...but definitely no more than that.... so for 140 to 160 MAX, what should I load it with?

Call Dave at Avatar. The cabs are tuned for specific drivers, and he'll know which one. Plus, he'll sell it to you cheaper than anyone else.
I emailed avatar and got an email back saying they don't stock them because they don't make the b115 anymore. that I could buy something that they stocked, or I could try to find a replacement myself .
so unless I want a 10 or 12 neo, I'm on my own.
he still sells them... but only the ones that they use in their current cabinets
