Thanks Tim, yeah I was kinda thinking about 110-volt power issues too...

I'd suggest everyone bring a nice heavy-duty extension cord. This bar has like a 15' x15' space next to the stage that we can start setting bass rigs up. But Timv's and my rigs could easily fill that whole space up by ourselves.

To make room for more gear, I picture we'll end up moving some of the tables/chairs from the seating area to set up lots more bass amps/cabs.

Its a pretty good sized room, but I'm thinking a lot of you guys will find that a good 25-50ft extension cord will come in very-very handy...

Yeah, I would hope that everyone patronizes the bar and orders at least a drink or two and some food. Even it’s just an appetizer and a beer. Part of the idea behind doing this at a bar/club is that we show some support for a local venue that supports local live music. :hyper:

BTW, my drummer has agreed to bring his kit and set it up for everyone to use. I am also bringing two guitarists/vocalists. Not that we need them. LOL :bassist:

Is anyone willing to bring a bass amp we can use for a backline. :rolleyes:

BTW, I spoke with Hipshot today. I'm hoping they can throw in some SWAG for door prizes also.

Eric, do you have a number for the owner/manager so that I can at least call to introduce myself and chat with them about the event a bit? I want it to go as smoothly as possible for them.

You can call the bars regular #(602) 244-1179 and ask for Kenda. I'm not sure what hours she's at the bar, but she's the very-very cool person that booked our GTG.

Besides my bands, I'll be bringing at least 1 good drummer plus a pretty dang talented guitarist/vocalist that will be into jamming with any of you other guys that want to get up on stage for a short set :cool:

If we get a lot of bands and guys that wanna get up on stage for jam-sessions, I was thinking maybe we should set like a 10 or 15 minute time limit...

That way everyone that wants to get up on stage would get their chance in our allotted 4-hour time frame, plus we'd all end up hearing more variety of tunes, playing styles, and most importantly for the GTG: How different brands/models of basses and amp-cab pairings actually sound and compare on the same stage/same day.

I was also thinking we should try to have like 10 or 15 minute breaks (in-between each on-stage performance) so we'd have plenty of time to talk-bass, check out all the cool gear and get to know each other better.

Does that sound like a good plan to you guys?
