Bacchus, Show 'em if you've got 'em!

I've had my eye on one of these but have never bought something from over seas (japan) what can I expect with customs and duty fees ? thats a beautiful bass BTW quadzilla

Gigged her for the first time this past Saturday night. All I can say is wow! As many of you know, I've owned nearly every big name builder bass out there. This can hang with pretty much anything in terms of build quality, playability and most importantly, tone.

After our sound check, my guitarist grabbed me and said "I really, really like the tone of that bass".


Has just the right amount of growl and burp. Sounds very full without being muddy at all. The notes on the D and G strings carry a lot of weight and punch but, are not thin or muddy. I was so in love with the tone the whole night that I completely forgot to put it in "boost mode" and try that live. I think that I have a new #1. It's that damn good!

Bacchus is one of the most underated brand. IMHO, those bass can compete with most of the big name like Sadowsky, Nordy, Atelier Z...

Fully agree. Managed to unpack some of my basses (am in the middle of a house move), and the Bacchus WOODLINE is on par in terms of construction, finish and tone. I did not have to set the bass up. It came perfectly intonated.

Thanks. It's so confusing after joining TB. There's 4-, 5-, 6-string and beyond basses. Neck through, set necks, bolt ons. Active and passive, P, PJ, humbuckers, SCs. 34, 34.5, 35, 37" scales. Fretted, fretless and the list goes on.

It is so very confusing.

I can tell you that the DX6 I bought with the Bartolini pre in it is the best modern J tone I have ever had.

I can tell you that the DX6 I bought with the Bartolini pre in it is the best modern J tone I have ever had.

She's due to arrive on Tuesday (from Canada). I'll do a side-by-side review and let you know. Danny @ Bass Japan Direct says in his reviews that if you close your eyes when playing the Craft Series, they are completely indistinguishable from a DX (from a tone and playbility aspect). I'll let you know what I think! ;-)
