Bacchus, Show 'em if you've got 'em!

Nice, I bought mine from Danny as well and he was telling me the same thing about the Craft. Look forward to your thoughts. My only thing is that I love the ebony fretboard a lot so lets see how those fingerboards compare for you as well.

Thanks Ned. I should probably do a NBD but those types of threads really aren't my thing. This bass is absolutely stunning - color looks much better than any photo I could take and quality is second to none. The biggest surprise is tone. I have never had a passive jazz bass that sounds as deep or has so much variety. Lows are thunderous but articulate and highs are crystal clear. Can't wait to get this guy in the mix.

For anyone interested in a Bacchus, give @VSN_Guitars a holler. Very easy to deal with, no pressure and shipping is fairly local coming from our friends to the north.

Congrats it looks amazing.

Well I just did holler at VSN because I love my DX6 and need a passive 4. So this is very encouraging to read. The other thing I love about the passive Bacchus is that you can put it in serial mode. This to me is a no brainer that Fender should have made standard a long time ago.

Slowly the word will get out about these basses. It takes time because they are not in stores and people can't walk in and play them. But they are unreal quality for the price.

Agree 100%. I loved the S-1 switch and wish more companies would at least include some type of series mode switch. I also think Bacchus would sell more if they were more widely available. Pricing is comparable to the similar off-the-shelf-Fender but quality and features gives you so much more bang for the buck.

I think the advantage we get with them not being US distributed is cost. They don't spend much on marketing here and as a result we see the savings in price. I just had my DX6 set up since the neck was a little too straight and had no relief after shipping over here. The tech (who sets up tons and tons of pro guitars/basses) just kept saying "man, this bass is nice". He was also very familiar with Tune basses and said he was seeing more players coming in with Japanese guitars.

On US distro - The DX6 was around $2,300 new. I think it would be $3,500 to $4,000 new if it had US marketing and distro. The Craft series are better than American Fenders and the handmade are on par if not better than CS Fenders. Price wise, they come in under the Fenders as well. Im not sure if they could continue that if they sold over here. So personally I like that it's a nice niche bass right now, just because I am able to save thousands of dollars compared to buying a Sadowsky NYC, MTD or similar.
