I never noticed this thread. Here's mine. I've had it for a few months now. Amazing tone. It has pearl block inlays, with a pearl binding on the neck and body.

They are indeed. This thing is set up just right for a blues album I'll be playing on next month.

Well I suppose it might be ok, just be careful. You really should send it over here first so it can be thoroughly inspected though. That one looks rather addictive

I have a Universe Series Jazz Bass (purchased from a fellow TBer) with DiMarzios and a 3-band Audere (the same model reviewed in Bass Player a few months back) and I love it. For those of you who don't know, the Universe Series is Bacchus's lower priced line of basses. The quality is somewhere between a MIM Fender and a MIJ Fender. Mine is Prussian Blue with a maple board. I find that maple boards are more prone to fret sprout than rosewood boards, so I had the frets cleaned up (and levelled while I was at it) and now the bass plays like a dream. It is a good bass but not a great bass. It is a good player and sees plenty of stage time. It sounds fabulous and that brings me to the Audere preamp...a fine piece of equipment. It is versatile and sounds great. The "Z Mode" switch is magical. I highly recommend the Audere. By the way, this is the first active instrument I have owned for any length of time. I have been playing since the mid-60's and have been a dyed-in-the-wool passive bass fan but the Audere made a believer out of me.
