Yeah I'm really digging it. I haven't played it with the band yet, so I can't wait. What I really like is the 12 inch depth (that's what she said). I can fit the whole rig in the trunk of my car, with my bass.

I know this cuts the lows, but with the VT Bass pedal I can boost them back up nicely.

I can't believe I'm about to type this--

I'm pretty satisfied with my rig.

as far as i know BE only made the speakers for the baby blue combo and extension cab. no idea if they actually designed the cab itself. Big Bens started out with a BE driver, i didn't know the 212 was a be equipped cab. I wonder if the twelves in that were from the bass cab design or from the ta-12 pa design (different sounding speakers) other than that Eden made all of the other early series one cabs for SWR. I doubt that BE designed any of the cabs their drivers were used in, i think they may have just supplied the speakers, and it's a good bet that their drivers are made for them to their specs by eminence or some other co.

FWIW as of may 2nd 2010 there was a pristine looking birch BE 212 at G guitars in new haven CT for six and change (i no longer have any remote connection to them) no clue if it's negotiable, consignment, etc just know it's used. didn't plug it in but theyhave it labeled as a guitar cab, but it's the one with the "Bass" 200 watt speakers. If I had the cash I'd buy it. :rolleyes:

Bahh I was hoping there'd be a thread for other Bag End users =DDD

I recently got mine with a trade-in/as a graduation present. Was at asmall guitar store my uncle recommended, was trying to trade in my LTD MD-500 for a 1x15 cab. I picked out some SWR used deal and was playing through that when one of the older workers comes over and goes "You like the way that sounds?" I said to him honestly "Ehh, it's aiight." and he goes "Try this." As he hooks up the same head to their brand new Bag End S18-D cab (I think they told me it had just come in the day) and was literally blown away. Without changin any setting on the head er bass the sound filled up the room with such clarity, it was rediculous. Amazing how compact it is too!

Anyways, couldn't pass it up, ended up trading in my bass for $300 (which was exactly the price I had in mind) and (my mom) had to shell out another ~$280 for it. Super happy about this purchase. Can't wait to start gigging with this, I can probably use it by itself, or throw it on top of my GK 410 and just knock people over. =D

i haven't tried them but i have spoke to them. the amps are all the same and they set the input gains on them to translate into the appropriate max power level for the cab in question. IIRC, they are pricey and about the same weight as the SWR unit.

I got to use a 2x10 and a 21" Infra sub with the built in amps and I liked them.

Caveat is that I was 'legally' not allowed to exceed 85dB so I didn't get to really open them up the way I wanted to.

The cabs weren't adjusted for volume to accommodate the size of the amp - standard D10B-D in every way, with an internal amplifier. I suspect the low end suffers at least a little, but I had a true sub to compensate and missed zero low end.
