Beautiful! I intend to pick up an S12 (for a small tube guitar head) and pair of TA1202-B (hooked to a poweramp as an alternate output to my DAW) for my music room after I move. I'm upgrading from a tiny sound proofed bedroom to a large chunk of a finished basement in the next 4 to 6 months
OK, I've been a little obsessed with the idea of going Bag End for about a week now.
Finding out about the PS15-B got me on the train, and now I'm thinking also about the S15-B too.
Been thinking about going back to a 115 or (2x115) for a while. Previously had a 2x115 Ashdown rig, and a 2x115 Greenboy Bassic rig. -- I think the Bag End stuff would sound pretty different from either of those (like complete opposite of the Ashdown rig). But I'm curious.
My only experience with Bag End was the Bass Emporium in Austin selling them way back when I was getting going. At the time I'd never heard of them, the seemed really expensive, and I was more likely to buy a used Ampeg 410 off CL. Anyway, my taste, needs, budget, and the cab market has really changed since those days. I did play a S15 once and remember being blown away by how bight and mid-forward sounding it was - of course compared to the Ampeg 410s I was used to at that time, that's not a surprise.
My main cab for a long while has been a Berg CN212 (which I think is fairly bright and mid-forward). Jazz bass with flats. Quilter, ToneHammer, Streamliner type amps.
Any opinions on if I might like the Bag End - should I keep going down this road?
Thoughts about a single S15 as a one cab / stand alone?

I would highly recommend any bag end cabinets. Best option is to find some and take a listen see if they'll work for you.

Easier said than done of course with some gear... not like you can go into Guitar Center and expect to find Bag End cabs in stock.

An s15d can handle olot of gigs solo. A pair of them is where the magic punch comes from. Its not for volume, its for the punch and fullnes you get from a pair of cabs coupling up. I have 3 of them.
I've got and used a S-15B. It's good for up to medium sized club if you're not trying to blow the walls down or your patched into FOH. Otherwise, I'll bet having two would really sound great!

Ive been through all the different greenboy type cabs, pretty much every cab really. I've built MANY. The thing about the bags cabd is the voicing of the speakers. They are pre-voiced to just plain work. They have a character to them where other drivers are kind of too clean and blah. No added harmonics, or excitement. I finally decided that wasn't for me.
Yep. I’ve been following you for years. Really enjoyed a lot of your posts about cabs - and amps. I think your demo of the Arkham pre is one of the best amp demos I’ve seen. Gave me the GAS for sure.
For a while I’ve been amused at how guys got into speakers and amps that could produce these massive lows, the all the sudden the next big thing you gotta have is a HPF to control those lows.
Like you said, they are voiced to just plain work.... that’s got a lot of appeal.

I've been looking in all the places just to see about my used purchase options.
Not a lot out there. Guitar Center has one S15 in inventory, and Reverb has none, and ebay has none.
Maybe guys that have these speakers are holding on to them.
I'm a little ways off anyway before I make any gear moves. Still in the thinking/planning stages.
I have used a single S15 against two other rather loud guitars on a few gigs and it held it's own just fine though I had to push the power a bit more than using two. I totally agree with Kringle77 that a pair is Magic!
circa 1992, 250 watt AMP head into a lone S15 held its own OUTSIDE against 2 guitarist with a 100 watts of Traynor and 120 watts of solid state Yamaha (both with 2x12 cabs) and a drummer. We did a bunch of Doobie Brothers, Journey, Kansas, Styx, etc. These were taken at a biker fund raiser BBQ late October... wow, 27 years ago! Carvin LB75 strung EADGB with Ken Smith Stainless rounds

Been playing my GK/Bag End combo for a few months now. Awesome combination! I can’t believe how sensitive (I guess this is the right word) the cabs are. I hardly have to turn my amp (4,800rb) up at all to get to a gigging volume. I’d be surprised if either of the volume knobs are past three o'clock.
Three seems high! I agree — the sensitivity of these cabs allow me to run a nice medium sized SS amp like my 400, 700 or former 800RB right in the sweet spot where it sings. GK/Bag End all day
