Bag End Stack in the House!

All of the models with the "-B" extension are oiled birch cabs. You might be able to custom order another cabinet in the oiled finish - I'm not sure. Contact Bag End sales. They're pretty nice folks. I almost picked up a pair of Bag End 15s a while ago because they are ridiculously cheap for such a quality cab. I think Bass Northwest was selling a pair of Bag End 15s for $300 a piece. But I scored an even better deal - I just picked up a Q10BX-D for $300 on evilBay! Now I have to get an amp that will really do it justice. I'm thinking of a Carvin B1500 or a Carvin DCM1500 paired with an Eden Navigator.

Side note...Some have commented on the Bag End 15s lack of low end. I call it lack of flab. If you've got a crappy PA / monitor system or band members who don't understand that full bass onstage usually means mud to the folks in the back of the room, then you might want another 15. But Bag End cabinets are designed to be musical onstage, much like Eden cabinets. They might not sound as "hi-fi" in the studio as other companies cabinets, but they are almost unequaled in live application.

Okay I'll play, but these are In The Garage at the drummers house right now and not In the House :)

We have found the weapons of mass destruction.

bag end's website leaves a Lot to be desired. very annoying...

the s15l-d is listed only on the price sheet, not in the product descriptions. i found it only by accident! it's 22x18.5x18.5d. the standard s15l is 18x18x15d, the s15d 22x18.5x24d

they're very receptive to custom configurations, drop 'em a line

Just to clarify, as BE nomenclature and online info can get confusing IMO:
S15's are 18.5 (h) x 18.5 (w) x 15.5 (d)
S15L's are 18.5 (h) x 22.5 (w) x 18.5 (d)
S15B's are 18.5 (h) x 28.5 (w) x 24.5 (d)

Yay goodie, Bruce! Congratulations on the Bags! They sound so good.. I still prefer them to most of my other cabs.

How do you like 'em so far?

Like 'em plenty, so far! Only played them out about 4-5 times as I've been going thourgh a slow stretch. But this summer should see these guys getting a good work out. (I hope! My summer schedule is looking a little slow.)

But, the shows I've played have been diverse: Outdoor to boomy small clubs. I've been able to dial in a good tone each time. Takes me a while to really tweak (tweek?) a new cab (or amp or bass), so the next half a dozen or so gigs will be fun!

They're very punchy. And very full, despite the "specs" on them. The sound seems to radiate away from them, so it may take me a few more gigs to get my volume under control. (I've been a little loud the last couple of gigs. Or so my bandmates say!)

But I'm impressed. Like I said before: Light. Loud. Punchy. Full. Small. And not that expensive. What's not to like??

I just took delivery of a Bag End D10DX-B today. I got it from Expo Audio and Video. They have just the cheapest prices on the Bags that I have yet to see. I paid $625 for the D10BX-D. I was holding out for the D10BX-C which is the same thing but in black carpet. But this was such a great deal. I am thinking about pulling off the red carpet and covering it with truck bed liner anyway. It's good to have a Bag End cab again.
