Trying to stay to a 2400 calorie a day regimen to drop 1 to 2 pounds a week with my rather physical job. Being the food loving pig that I am it's actually quite difficult to only eat 2400 calories. A perfect day for me would probably equal four to five thousand calories of delicious food meal after meal. But then, this is why I am fat. Ate two fried eggs with two rye bread crisps spread with spicy hummus and a salad dressed with balsamic dressing, and half a cup of cottage cheese just now. On the eggs I drizzled ketchup and sriracha sauce, and I have to say it was a rather delicious and filling dinner. Oh and I also drank two pints of labatt's blue before eating said dinner, which means I am 40 calories over my limit which means I need to go for a 4 km walk now.....:smug: I've got about fifty pounds to lose and I'll be damned if I don't get there! To be honest though this is coming from a guy who regularly likes to get home at 9 at night and make a pot of macaroni and cheese and immediately destroy all of it along with three or four beers.....:D

My business partner and I had to make a run to the dump with a load of garbage from the job yesterday and we passed by one of our favorite restaurants that we hadn't eaten at for while called "Country Perks". It's actually a Caribbean-Thai-Malaysian fusion restaurant and I'm telling you they pump out some wicked fair. This is the lunch size curry chicken roti smothered in more chicken and potato curry gravy served with a house Scotch bonnet sauce for $7.95 CDN
I don't know if you can tell from the picture but it literally fills the plate and is a ridiculous portion. The dinner size is apparently much bigger...I was really hungry and annihilated it.....:smug:

I’ve been trying to stay under 2000 calories a day. 1500 so far today. It’s tough.
Using the Fitbit app. It’s easy to track calories with it.
Brother it's definitely tough, I have an app called My Fitness Pal which seems to do a pretty good job for me. I find the Saving grace is spring mix or "mesculin mix" salad. If evening comes and you just can't take it anymore a decent-sized bowl of spring mix salad lightly dressed with a vinaigrette and a good sprinkling of salt and pepper gets me over the hump....

Manhattan followed by a Deschutes Mirror Pond. Rare, and brief, night out. Happy right now.

Nice. I prefer Black Butte Porter a little, but most of the Deschutes products are pretty good in my book. Bend has some other great breweries too, all of which started up long after I moved away from there. Not that the area I live in now is hurting that way though...not at all.

BBP is one of the best beers on the planet. Had it been a tap offering it would have been my craw quencher of choice.

It used to be on tap everywhere around here, and in bottles at most stores too, but the competition has become crazy stiff over the last several years. My next default choice when I go out locally and want a dark "session beer" is Invalid Link Removed. The pizza at the Hood River brewery is really good too, especially the Jersey Pie: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] .
