Portland band Iommi Stubbs Link Removed... doesn't look like they currently have a second, but I remember seeing them many times with 2 bass players.

Apparently, a band called Girls Against Boys. 2 bass players. I've never listened to them, but a friend recomended them a while back...

You know, a band with 2 bass players sounds like a damned good idea...

back in the day, there was a band called Regraped. Saw them once or twice locally, and it blew my mind. None of the shredding stuff, two bass players and a drummer and very crazy compositions, the kind of stuff that makes legens out of indie bands.

31 years ago, my first concert, Kiss headlined (Destroyer tour) with Bob Seger in support and . . .

The opener was a very strange band for at that time . . . Felix Pappilardi and Creation.
Do you guys remmber Felix, the singing bassist for Mountain?
They also had two drummers too.

Also, didn't Miles Davis use two basses, one on a piccolo bass, in his latter days? I remmember the guy on piccolo got a write up, maybe even a cover on Bassplayer mag back then.

Stanley Clarke used to have Buster Williams as his backup bass while on tour holding down the bottom

For his "All This Time" DVD, Sting played his P-bass on some of the songs while Christian McBride played upright. It actually worked pretty well, IMHO.

Christian McBride also played in a project called "Superbass" which included fellow double bassists Ray Brown and John Clayton. They did harmonizing parts while one solos (pizzacato and arco solos). They had two CDs a few years before Ray Brown's death in 2002. If you want to hear what some top level bassists can do together, these are a couple CDs that won't disappoint. I think they also had a drummer in some of the mixes, I don't recall any other instruments. Amazing stuff.

The band I'm in has two bass players..

At first we weren't sure how it was going to sound, but after a couple weeks of working on it, the sound really started coming together.

Maybe someday we'll actually get something recorded..

king crimson had 2 bass players for a while in the 80's or 90's...they had 2 drummers and 2 guitarists too

not two bassists. trey gunn plays chapman stick which is a lot different than bass
