Hey man! Haven't heard much out of you lately. Used to have the old one and am semi-considering a new one. Any major differences?

Form factor, battery for the original (new version is power supply only), different EQ points. Both rock!

Well, the new Barber has EQ right on the input, like the bright and regular channel of an amp (right toggle) and EQ with the gain section. It’s worth reading the instructions to get an understanding of the various options. Six total on the new Linden vs two on the original.

I’m not a big pedal user. I like the sound of bass - cable - amp. Other preamp pedals that I’ve tried always seem to make either my bass or my amp sound less natural (owned Tech 21 VT, Blonde, Programmable DI, Empress ParaEQ, probably a few others).
What I like about the Linden is it still sounds like a bass straight into an amp, but with a lot more juice. All the toggle settings still sound natural.

Anywhere you like. It all depends on what you want to accomplish.

I treat mine like it’s the preamp stage of my rig. So it’s second to last in the chain right before a HPF.

So: everything else>Linden>HPF>effects loop return

Most times anyway.

But that’s just the way I like it. There’s plenty of other ways to position it too.

That’s a good workable pathway. I’d probably either/or engage the Linden/BroughtonSV since the Broughton is an SVT whereas the Linden is a B-15N tonestack. And those are two very different vibes to my eats.

But that’s me. I generally prefer not to stack EQs anyway. But either way there’s no real right or wrong other than what sounds good is good

Its a really nice pre. It’s a B-15 in a box tone wise. I compared it to the real deal. So it’s not just marketing hype. But those two toggles really up the game big time. Loves a PB and pretty much everything else I’ve plugged into it. Fretless bass is a revelation played through it.

Amazing little box. And the $99 they’re currently asking for one just makes it that much sweeter IMO. Lots to like.

Where do you all put your Linden in your chain?

Currently running mine: bass > volume > comp. > Linden Eq. > amp. I run it into an SWR Interstellar OD pre, so between the Linden's special sauce and the 5751 in that SWR, I've got tube amp/D.I. tone to die for. Probably the happiest I've ever been with my setup...makes my LB-100 pound like a sledgehammer.

Well said...and well worth the $99. It's a steal at that price. Definitely one of the best pedals I've ever used. Never thought 2 switches and 3 knobs could create so much variance in tone...still blows my mind when I get to playing around with it.

I have my SV-Pre at at the end of my chain too. I have my linden right beside it. I use the Linden for clean and the SVP for my angry dirty tone, Everything else but the L+Hpf is in front of the Linden and SVP
