Barber Linden EQ • New small form factor

I’m going to have to try mine after compressor this week. It’s been 2nd after tuner as well, basically first in my tonal chain. Will report back. I run mine into a tube overdrive, then compressor, then cab sim. Going to try every option but cab sim will remain last in chain.

That’s my signal chain too. I changed up my board recently so it’s in experimental mode.
Out went my BCP-1 and in came the Linden and a Broughton Super Deluxe.
So I have some work to do.

I waited a couple days too long and they are out of stock for a few weeks.
Figured I would pre-order one before I forgot, again, (for the 5th time; stupid life is distracting)

Thanks. Pretty much can’t go wrong with it. If I put the Archetype before the Super Deluxe, I get more breakup out of the SD so those two will stay in their respective order for now, so the real question is, where will the Cali76cb wind up?

I prefer the Linden to not interfere with the compressor's threshold if I want to boost the output of my bass and/or change some signal frequencies. I also like it before dirt because it's such a nice boost for any application possible. I never tried mine last in the chain, honestly. Not having a DI and being 100% clean I think it's more useful for tone shaping or boost applications.

Mine is late in the chain. Comp -> octave/dirt/effects -> Linden -> always on OD/LPF -> HPF.

After going to order one at the start of the month and finding that they were out of stock till Feb I accidentally came across one for sale second hand in a music store on the other side of the country (while searching for something else). Given that there are probably very few Barber pedals Down Under I took it as a sign and it’s on its way to me!! Looking forward to trying it out!

Look what came today! Second hand but looking brand new!

Had to check out the inside before I put it on the board:

Had a bit of a play with it, both with headphones through the Olympic as well as through my amp and I’m really liking it! My bass (Kiesel Vader short scale) is a little muddy on the bottom end and I was hoping that the Linden would allow be to improve that. Thought I would have to cut the bass to get rid of the mud but the “tight” mode on the input switch really helped to get rid of the mud and I can actually boost the bass and get a massive but tight low end!

There’s a surprising amount of flexibility in this pedal with toggle switches and I’m looking forward to exploring it more! Definitely glad that I managed to get one of these on my board, very well built and effective!

Did you put it in front of the SLO? Or into the FX loop?
The tight position is just perfect for me too.
