Barber Linden EQ • New small form factor

....And so it did for me. That was a wonderful 30 minutes. How can something so simple be so darn great. I am really glad I made this purchase. I see great things ahead for this EQ and me.
How does the Linden compare to the Ampeg pre pedal?

I have both a Linden and a BDDI v2. Both are based on (different) Ampeg models, but you can hear some similarities in the clean tones. The Linden is a clean EQ, not a real preamp/DI tool and not capable of any dirt by itself, but it offers more options to sculpt a solid clean tone, in my opinion.
If you're looking for that old school fat tubey overdriven Ampeg tone, the BDDI is the way to go hands down. As much as I currently prefer the Linden for its versatility in my rig, the BDDI have "that" recognizable tone.
It's supposed to be used also for cleans with the gain low but it's not as good as the linden in that application. It seems to deliver its best with the gain at least around 12 o'clock, which is crunchy with my passive P w/flats.
Ordered Friday and delivered on Monday! Just did my 4 nights of gigs and got the next 3 off. Will post a pic as soon as I get my board rearranged

Sounded great last night! Love this pedal! Best $100 I’ve ever spent. Almost done with my board once I get one more pedal; I believe I’ll be happy with having 5 pedals on it. I’ve bought about 30 pedals in almost 4 years and I’ve learned a bit about what I have been wanting to achieve...
Definitely going to be selling some pedals soon that are all great but deserve to be used by someone else. The Linden ain’t going, that’s for sure!

While I'm waiting for my EB Cobalt flats, I decided to replace my Chromes with a set of EB rounds. With these strings I don't NEED the Linden always on anymore to get that clarity in the attack. Despite that, having it on even set with flat EQ... it makes everything sound better.
For most of the music I play I could go bass>BDDI>amp using rounds, while I somehow prefer to have the Linden always on when using flats, which I prefer for both feel and tone even if they have less clarity in the attack.
But like I said, having it on makes the difference and it's a great tool to have in a board. I use a Nano+ and it's firts in the signal chain.

Don't know. I was talking with David about sending me a Tone Press to add to my compressor shootout but he declined. Would be great exposure for another one of the his products. The Linden is fantastic. I imagine the Tone Press is too.
In his defense, David is a small builder, and it might be harder for a guy like him to donate to the cause when he probably gets requests like that all the time.
Yes for sure. Other builders a lot smaller than Barber have participated but it is totally his call. I might have to buy a Tone Press to try it out.
