Barefaced 69'er thread

i know what a crossover is but .5 alignment is not registering. But i think what ur sayin is its gonna act like a fearful/bigtwin in regards to frequency response and mid range dispersion and sound like Flat back 810. Ok so say it does this and u put an svt on top of this baby.....it will sound super close (How close?) to the "classic/vintage" svt/810 rig? i still dont get what the extra benefits would be. it will handle drop tunings better because of frequency response? Will it eliminate the downfalls of the classic rig?and what are those downfalls? sorry again for being ignorant. Ill go back to there website and reread there 69er description page and if there is some suggested readings i appreciate it.

Half the speakers (along one column) are low passed so that the mids aren't creating interference. This is how you get better dispersion.

Basically it will sound like a flatback 8x10 and sound better in the audience without the deadspots and uneven sound associated with paired 10's.

Versus a modern 8x10? I can't really say. I have a flatback and they sound much smoother, great in the mids, fat bottom. I think the newer cabs - most newer cabs and speakers in general - sound too stiff. This is supposed to account for that, I suppose.

Gotcha. thanks man. Yea these cabs are makin my wheels turn. I have a 100t id like to run it with. ive never played thru a sealed cab before.

yea weight was defs a downfall. so it will be just as loud with 2 less speakers?

Could easily be, yes. In addition to the .5 alignment, it uses different, little higher output drivers on the low side, so you can reach the same spl with less of them, and uses a highpassed guitar driver for the topend extension and character. Remember the original flatbacks were pretty mich guitar drivers. That's why they needed so many to handle the 300 watt bass amp.
