Depends on what else is in the grits 'n such...Belgian witbiers are always great with seafood. The citrus splash they all have matches up well....so either a Hoegarden or a Blanche de Bruxelles....or if you want to keep it in the country...Flying Dog's Woody Creek.

No way. I'm a Tigers guy, through and through. But seeing Cleveland absolutely decimate Detroit a few times this year, I'll say that it's their year to win the AL.
Let's talk American League Cy Young.
Why is Fausto Carmona not getting any consideration? He has one less win than Beckett, but has another 15 innings, has pitched a complete game shutout (in the regular season), has an ERA lower by .25 ...
And for that matter, why is everyone saying Beckett, Beckett, Beckett, when Big C.C. pitched 41 more innings (!) than Josh, had 15 more strikeouts, and has a lower ERA? Especially when you consider his K/BB ratio this year is the second-best for any southpaw, ever (Randy Johnson is #1).
Let's take a look at the stats of five of the leading pitchers in the AL this year. I'm using Justin Verlander as one, because he's the one I'm most familiar with for the comparisons:

The only things that Beckett has over C.C. are:

Same WHIP
Fausto Carmona was the best groundball pitcher this year, better than Wang. Here's why:
Better ERA
More innings pitched
More groundouts (362 v. 329)
Better WHIP
And even as a groundball specialist, he still has 137 K's to Wang's 104.
You can't just say that Beckett looked like the Cy Young winner in his CGSHO the other night, because Verlander, Beurhle, and Bucholz all looked better than that for one night this year. Sabathia had an objectively better year as a pitcher. That one more win shouldn't outweight all of the other categories in which Beckett fell short of not only C.C., but also Carmona.

Wow, that ball was officially over the wall and the fan didn't reach over, but that should have been an out. That, and that stupid photographer wall they put up at fenway wrapping around the edge of the infield, that only got in the way. I mean, it ended up in the Sox favor, which makes me happy, but I don't completely agree with it.
As a Bucco fan, my season was over months ago. Though, with the new CEO and GM, I'm anxious to see what the Pirates can do with their young talent in '08.
I'll give you some reasons:
CC has some better numbers by playing in MORE games than Beckett. More games that result in less wins is a factor in Cy Young balloting. I't not the one great game you throw ,it's when you do it. You know like in a playoff game. All other numbers are within spitting distance. At best it's a tossup, but it ain't over till it's over.
