beckett is sucha big time pitcher...kind of scary how cool he seems on the mound during the postseason. needless to say, im loving every second of it thus far.

The Rockies destiny is granted, everybody on this team reaks of confidence and nobody will stop them from obtaining the ultimate prize.

I know this statement is bold, Sox are equally solid on both sides of the ball.

This may be the greatest world series in a long time.

The Sox just played a complete game of baseball. Pitching, hitting (every starter got a hit, 6 guys scored and 4 guys drove in runs); defense, even a well-executed sac bunt for the smallball lovers out there. Papi and Manny are still locked in; but the key is that everyone else is helping out by either getting on base in front of them or knocking them in when they walk.

I thought it interesting that Wedge brought in Borowski - I wonder if he is setting up a situation where if Cleveland has a late lead tonight, he'll go with Bettancourt for a 2-inning save and claim that he needed to give Borowski a rest.

It is a good start, but it can turn around pretty quickly if Carmona brings the nasty stuff. Schill has been sharp lately, but he can't blow away hitters the way that Beckett can. If the ball stays in the park we have a chance.

LOL and perhaps guilty as charged. But the Sox scored 10 last night without the benefit of a home run. Schill is not going to walk many and I don't see the Indians stringing together a bunch of hits so they will need (and are perfectly capable of hitting) a few homers to put up runs. The Sox have been turning walks, singles and doubles into crooked numbers all season long.

I was right about my prediction about last night, though. First team to score 2 runs wins - the Sox got to 2 first. Fortuantely they got to 3, 4, 5 and beyond first too.

Very true. I know Schill's a big game pitcher...Sabathia looked like a 25 yr old who's never thrown in an ALCS before...kinda expected. But Carmona seems like one of those guys who just goes out there and has fun...look for fireworks. And I don't see the Indians putting up back to back 'offensive' offensive nights...

Carmona has nasty filthy stuff. To me the key will be: can he be around the plate enough so that the Sox hitters have to chase the unhittable stuff. If the Sox can lay off of filthy nasty balls - then they have a chance; but if they can't lay off or if he is throwing nasty filthy strikes, then it will be struggle to score runs.

This is what makes the post-season so much fun. Great pitchers pitching and great hitters hitting.

I think the Red Sox NEED to leave Eric Gagne at home when they travel to Cleveland! I can't be certain of this, but, either Gagne is not what he was cracked up to be , or he is injured (I heard his pitching arm/shoulder was hurting). Regardless, they would be better asking Wakefield to give them an inning or two, even if he has to pitch the next day.
