I also agree that Ellsbury is our starting CF next year. But who will take Coco? How many years does he have left on the contract?

Coco is signed for two more years with a club option for a 3rd that at 8M has a 500 k buyout. Next year is 4.75 M; '09 is 5.75 M. No need to trade him. The Sox can afford to keep him as a fourth outfielder. Given JD's and Manny's injury histories, use as a defensive replacement, pinch hitter in sacrifice situations, he would get a few hundred at-bats plus some SB's in pinch runner situations.

Dice-K didn't pitch too bad. Westbrooke started out really rough but the Sox were only able to muss together 3 runs. He has since settled in and the Sox aren't hitting anymore.

Now with Lugo's error here in the 7th, I'm a little nervous....

Oh man oh man oh man.....Lofton probably could have scored and tied the game. What was that third base coach thinking????

Double play, inning over, no runs scored. That was so huge....

Ok, those nerves can be eased a little. Double play to end the 7th. I think Lofton could have scored on that single, but looked a little confused after he heard the bounce off the wall there.

edit: Damn, Gabe! Were you waiting in this thread to post an update after each batter? Just beat me in w/ that one.

He blew through that first out, but what was that w/ Lugo? He was staring at third the whole time! He got the ball out of the glove. If he'd been looking at first, he would have turned the DP, but he was staring the other way.

I think Pedroia took too long to get him the ball and it wasn't the sharpest hit either. With Pedroia placed where he was defensively, a relative soft ground ball, and the double clutch throw to Lugo, I'm not sure there was ever a play at first.

On a side note, Cleveland only has 3 outs left....
